* Strengthening the Government's Steering Committee on science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation and Project 06

(DN) - On May 17, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the Government's Steering Committee on Science , Technology, Innovation, Digital Transformation and Project 06 (referred to as the Steering Committee) chaired the second meeting of the Steering Committee.

Attending the meeting were Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh ; Minister of National Defense, General Phan Van Giang; Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc; Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung and leaders of ministries, branches, central agencies and a number of universities, corporations and large enterprises.

At Dong Nai province, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc chaired the conference. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Duong Minh Dung and leaders of relevant departments and branches attended the conference.

At the meeting, the leaders of the Ministry of Science and Technology announced the Prime Minister's decisions to strengthen the Government's Steering Committee on science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation and Project 06, along with 3 decisions to establish 3 working groups to assist the Government's Steering Committee.

These working groups include: Working group to implement Project 06, administrative procedure reform, digital transformation associated with Project 06, headed by the Minister of Public Security; Working group on science, technology development, innovation and digital transformation, headed by the Minister of Science and Technology; Working group on administrative reform, headed by the Minister of Home Affairs.

Speaking at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation are the foundation for sustainable development; striving for economic growth of 8% or more in 2025 and double digits in the coming years with important contributions from new growth drivers. The coming period is a crucial period, requiring high concentration, great determination, and drastic actions to successfully achieve the goals set for 2025.

The Prime Minister requested ministries, branches and localities to "think truly, act truly, achieve real results, and benefit the people truly" so that the development of science, technology, innovation, national digital transformation, administrative reform and the implementation of Project 06 will continue to have strong, comprehensive and sustainable changes. From there, it will contribute significantly to promoting socio-economic development, constantly improving the prosperous and happy life of the people.
