For the tasks chaired by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry assigns the Department of Tourism to advise the Government to issue a decision to consolidate the State Steering Committee on Tourism; evaluate the implementation results of Resolution No. 08-NQ/TU dated January 16, 2017 of the Politburo on developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector; and evaluate the implementation results of the 2017 Law on Tourism.
The Department of Tourism will organize an annual national green tourism forum; evaluate and grant sustainable tourism certificates to tourism establishments and hotels; and research and develop a green tourism certification system that meets international standards for Vietnamese tourism products and destination brands.
Regarding tourism promotion, the Department of Tourism is in charge of innovating the content and methods of tourism promotion and advertising, developing tourism products in which Vietnam has strengths; developing a project to establish a tourism promotion office abroad; advising the Government to promulgate or promulgate under its authority a plan to promote tourism exploitation by sea and road.
Regarding digital transformation, the Department of Tourism is responsible for developing a database on tourism management and business on a shared digital platform; building and perfecting a smart tourism ecosystem associated with digital transformation, green transformation, and circular economy; promoting administrative procedure reform in the tourism sector associated with digital transformation...
For the tasks coordinated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry will coordinate with relevant ministries and branches to research and propose preferential policies on entry and exit, visas; enhance tourism promotion, tourism programs on flights, stations, ports, public transport; complete the system of investment mechanisms and policies to promote the development of outlet shopping center models, night tourism complexes, duty-free shops in the city center, film studio complexes combined with amusement parks, etc.
In addition, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will work with relevant ministries and sectors to research and issue policies to facilitate individuals, organizations and communities working in tourism; integrate the promotion of Vietnamese tourism brands and images into the Vietnam national brand program and other trade promotion programs; develop and issue policies to promote the development of human resources and the tourism labor market; promote, promote and cooperate in investment and tourism development through Vietnamese representative agencies abroad.
