(Baoquangngai.vn) - In the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), many purse seine fishing boats from Quang Ngai province are bustling at the fishing port to sell their catch. Joy is clearly visible on the faces of each fisherman as they have had a bountiful harvest of skipjack tuna.

From the 22nd day of the 12th lunar month until now, fishing boats from Quang Ngai province have been bustling at the fishing port to sell their catch.

Joy was evident on the faces of every fisherman as they had a bountiful catch of skipjack tuna.

After just three days at sea, the boats returned with 5-6 tons of skipjack tuna, selling for 50-70 thousand VND/kg, bringing in hundreds of millions of VND for each vessel.

Mr. Le Tan Vinh, residing in Hai Tan residential area, Pho Quang ward (Duc Pho town), said that his boat has 10 crew members. After 3 days of fishing in the waters of Quang Ngai, the boat brought back 6 tons of skipjack tuna. With a good catch and good prices, the crew members all earned a decent income, and everyone was happy to have extra money to prepare for Tet (Lunar New Year) for their families.

The fish are preserved in ice chests for transport and sale.

Besides the joy of the boat owners and fishermen, the people in the coastal fishing villages of Quang Ngai are equally excited. The women earn income from transporting and sorting fish.
