Smelling a burning smell, passengers alerted the driver and together they escaped.

At noon on August 1, Phu Loc Traffic Police Station (Traffic Police Department, Hue City Police) was still coordinating with Khe Tre Commune Police and relevant agencies to continue investigating the scene of the sleeper bus that was burned to the frame on the highway.

Previously, at around 1:30 a.m. the same day, passenger bus with license plate 47B – 027.xx driven by Mr. Ho Tien Hung (born in 1974, residing in Nghe An province), carrying 24 passengers, was traveling from Da Nang City to Hue.

When reaching Km26+900 on the La Son – Tuy Loan expressway (section through Khe Tre commune, Hue city), some passengers sitting in the back smelled a burning smell and detected smoke, so they informed the driver. At that moment, Mr. Hung quickly drove the car into the emergency lane, got out to check, and discovered smoke coming from the cargo compartment below the car.

Khe Tre commune police participated in extinguishing the fire.

Immediately, the driver shouted and 24 passengers left the bus before the fire broke out, completely burning the sleeper bus. Upon receiving the news, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Hue City Police mobilized forces and vehicles to the scene to put out the fire. Because the incident was discovered promptly by passengers and the bus company, there were no human casualties.

Currently, the cause of the bus fire is being investigated by the investigation agency.
