78 years have passed, every Independence Day, every Vietnamese person in general, and Ha Tinh people in particular, cannot help but remember each other's roots, the value of peace , and the heroic history of the nation...
Mr. Dang Ky (born in 1931, residential group 3, Hung Tri ward - Ky Anh town): Welcoming the first National Day with the mindset of a citizen of an independent country
Mr. Dang Ky still remembers clearly the days of independence in 1945.
Born when the country was still in the darkness of slavery, our childhood was filled with hardship and hunger. When the August Revolution of 1945 took place, I was in my teens. Although I did not fully understand the great significance of the revolution, I felt the changes around me.
September 2, 1945 - the first National Day after the revolution succeeded, I followed my parents and local people to the district center to watch the rally. Everywhere flags and banners were flying, everyone's faces were excited, radiant with happiness and the spirit of the people of an independent country.
Long after that, I still cannot forget the memories of those glorious historical days of the nation. And from then on, every year on the occasion of National Day, people in my hometown make their own national flags from red paper and hang them on the altar or the most solemn places in the house, while young people actively practice performing arts to participate in rallies...
The meaning and atmosphere of the birth day of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945) - the Socialist Republic of Vietnam has always been a sacred and heroic memory associated with me throughout my life. That is why I always teach my children and grandchildren to understand history, be grateful for the contributions of previous generations, and strive and train to become useful people for society.
Mr. Le Dang Cuong (born in 1953 - Party Cell Secretary, Head of the Veterans Association of Dai Dong village, Thach Long commune, Thach Ha): The motivation for us to fight and protect the Fatherland
Veteran Le Dang Cuong had many achievements in the resistance war against America to save the country.
In January 1971, I enlisted in the army, directly participating in the battle to protect the Fatherland on the Southern battlefield. I and my comrades went through life and death in many fierce battles in the Southwest. On the fierce battlefield, under the enemy's bombs and bullets, every year on the occasion of the National Day on September 2, through a small cassette radio, the entire unit gathered to listen to information and commemorative activities in the North.
At that moment, in the hearts of every soldier arose a desire for peace and unity for the country. Turning the desire into action, the officers and soldiers of the entire unit were determined to compete to achieve many feats, contributing to the common victory on the Southern battlefield. I myself was honored to be awarded the Resistance Medal, the Liberation Soldier Medal, the Glorious Soldier Medal...
In October 1976, after being discharged from the army and returning to my hometown, I took up a job at the Thach Ha District Party Committee and stayed there for many years. Luckier than many of my comrades to return alive, I cherished the value of a peaceful and free life even more. Every National Day, I was moved and missed my comrades. Promoting the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, as a veteran, I regularly participated in traditional education activities for the younger generation; reminding them to cherish the past and history of the nation.
Ms. Mai Ngoc Trang (born in 1992 - Secretary of the Tan Giang Ward Youth Union, Ha Tinh City): Independence Day is an opportunity for the young generation to better understand the history of the nation.
National Day is an opportunity for young people like Ms. Mai Ngoc Trang to learn more about the nation's history.
As a young generation, born and raised in peacetime, we know the history of our country through books and stories told by previous generations. Every year on the occasion of National Day, participating in solemn commemorative programs is another time for us to learn and cultivate pride and gratitude for the contributions and sacrifices of our ancestors. National Day for young people is also an opportunity to participate in many rich and exciting cultural and spiritual activities.
As a Youth Union official, I regularly develop youth union and team work programs with many meaningful and practical activities in the locality. The activities focus on the goal of guiding our members to show gratitude to those who have contributed to the revolution, train themselves, and make efforts to contribute to the construction of the homeland. Towards the anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2 this year, we continue to participate in meaningful activities to return to the source, show gratitude, and practice traditional activities...
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep (born in 1979 - teacher at Huong Son High School): Educating and fostering patriotism for generations of students
Proud of the nation's tradition and history, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep and her colleagues always educate and foster patriotism in generations of students.
Born after the war, since I was a child, my grandparents and parents told me stories about the time of fire and bombs, about the history of the nation. When I was a child, on major holidays of my homeland and country, especially National Day - the holiday that people in my hometown still call Independence Day, we often participated in many local activities such as: rallies, art performances, tug of war... In the lively, joyful atmosphere of the holiday, everyone felt proud and grateful for living in peace and freedom.
When becoming a teacher, I am always aware of my role and responsibility in educating and fostering love for the homeland and pride in the nation's historical traditions for generations of students. My colleagues and I do this regularly, especially on major holidays such as the April 30 Victory Anniversary, War Invalids and Martyrs Day July 27, August Revolution Anniversary, National Day September 2... Through meaningful lessons and activities, we have contributed to fostering patriotism in each student.
