In 2017, realizing that the demand for oyster mushrooms among consumers was quite high, but there were not many facilities producing this type of mushroom in the locality, Mr. Tu was determined to invest and experiment. He boldly borrowed 100 million VND from the Youth Union to start a business.
Initially, he imported mushroom spawn from reputable farms to grow, and the harvested mushrooms were well received by customers. Later, as the market expanded and mushroom production facilities increased, Mr. Tu gradually shifted to mushroom spawn production to meet this demand.

However, due to lack of experience, the actual production conditions were far different from the theory, he encountered many difficulties. After several years of working and accumulating experience, learning by himself, Mr. Tu was able to complete the production of mushroom spawn.
He chose a clean production method from raw materials to environment and process to produce standard mushrooms. According to Mr. Tu, in the process of making mushroom spawn, the important thing is to create a bag of spawn with high nutritional content so that the mushrooms can grow well and produce high yield...

The process of creating a mushroom spawn lasts several months. Each bag of spawn yields an average of 2-2.5 ounces of fresh mushrooms. The growing and harvesting process depends on the technique of each grower. Therefore, when selling mushroom spawn, Mr. Tu enthusiastically guides customers on mushroom growing techniques to achieve quality.
Anh Tu said that the most important things in growing mushrooms are hygiene, temperature, humidity and light. It is necessary to create the right humidity and cleanliness for the mushrooms to grow well. If the environment is not clean, the mushrooms will get sick, and if it is too hot, the mushrooms will be small, not grow, and the yield will not be achieved.

Currently, his facility supplies 60,000-70,000 bags of mushroom spawn each year depending on market demand. Each bag of spawn costs 5,500 VND/bag, consumed in localities in Quang Nam province.
"We support mushroom growers in knowing how to apply science and technology and properly care for mushroom spawn. Customers who grow mushrooms effectively will have their mushroom spawn sell well," Mr. Tu shared.
In addition, he also dedicated more than 100m² to produce fresh mushrooms at the facility, both for business and as a place to visit and share experiences for those in need. The current selling price of fresh mushrooms is 45,000-55,000 VND/kg, consumed at wholesale markets in and outside the province.
Mr. Tu's mushroom farm creates jobs for many local workers (Photo: Ngo Linh).
In 2020, Mong Nghe Agricultural Cooperative was established and Nguyen Anh Tu became the director. The cooperative creates regular jobs for 6 local workers, with a salary of 3-4 million VND/month. Many women in the village who are farmers take advantage of their free time to apply for mushroom growing jobs, improving their family income.
Regarding upcoming plans, Mr. Tu said he will expand the farm area and invest in a closed misting system to improve quality and shorten product release time.
