With the determination to stay with the land and the village, Mr. Ha Van Tieu, Dam Ha commune, has chosen to stay with his hometown, taking advantage of the rich source of aquatic products to develop local specialties. In 2018, Mr. Tieu established Khanh Dan Food Processing and Trading Cooperative with two main product lines: fish cakes and squid cakes. On average, this cooperative supplies the market with 3-4 tons of goods per month, covering many provinces and cities across the country and gradually approaching the export market.
Mr. Tieu said: Currently, Khanh Dan Cooperative has 2 products certified with 3-star OCOP, and is in the process of upgrading to 4-star OCOP. The Cooperative is also creating stable jobs for 20 local workers, with an income of 7-10 million VND/person/month. The determination to get rich from agricultural products has also brought Mr. Tieu to the Luong Dinh Cua Award presented by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. This is a noble award to honor young people with outstanding achievements in the fields of production, business, transfer of technical advances, agricultural technology, environmental protection and new rural construction.
Choosing the path of sticking with local agriculture is also the direction of the Tay ethnic youth Tran Dang Hanh, Tien Yen commune. When the new rural construction program was strongly implemented in the district, the main product of Tien Yen chicken became more and more known, Mr. Hanh was also determined to stick with this potential product.
Mr. Hanh said, in 2017, I started implementing the Tien Yen chicken farming model on my family's 2ha garden. During the farming process, I always focus on quality control from breed selection to barn hygiene. In particular, I add herbs such as cinnamon, star anise, and xuyen chi to the diet, helping the chickens increase their resistance, reduce disease and retain their characteristic flavor. I also mobilized local farmers to establish a cooperative for sustainable development called Tien Yen Chicken Farming Cooperative. Currently, the cooperative is managing production on 45 farms, ranches and many small-scale households, with an average scale of about 4,000 chickens/household.
In recent years, the youth movement to establish a career has been increasingly vibrant, creating a spread in the community. Thereby, helping young people promote their youthfulness, dynamism, creativity, constantly innovate, and absorb scientific and technological advances to apply to production. Notably, in the process of engaging in agriculture, many rural youth have made many breakthroughs, innovated, applied scientific and technological advances to production, increased product value and promoted the development of the rural economy in a modern direction.
Like Mr. Vu Duc Tuan, Ha An ward, from an IT engineer but with a passion for agriculture, in 2019, Mr. Tuan invested in factories, equipment, breeds... to develop a commercial shrimp farming model. In particular, applying the knowledge he gained, Mr. Tuan researched, built and successfully applied the Farmgo farm management application, optimizing the production process, minimizing risks in livestock farming. Thanks to that, this application not only brings efficiency to his farm with a profit of 1.5-1.7 billion VND per year, but is also applied to many farms in and outside the province.
Along with the efforts of all youth groups, in recent years, the Youth Union and the Provincial Youth Union have always paid attention to, focused on, accompanied and supported young people in starting a business with many effective programs and activities. The Youth Union at all levels has promoted propaganda activities, encouraged and motivated young people to do business, confidently start a business; guided, supported and helped union members and young people to build new projects, borrow capital for economic development; maintained the form of interest-free revolving capital contribution among union members and young people.
