Monitoring data shows that at 7:00 AM this morning (August 5th), the water level of the Bui River at the Yen Duyet hydrological station (Chuong My district) had dropped below alarm level I. The water level of the Tich River is also falling rapidly, although it is still fluctuating at alarm level II.
Given the lack of rain over the past two days, water levels on the Bui and Tich rivers are expected to continue receding rapidly. Along with this, flooding in riverside areas, especially in the districts of Chuong My and Quoc Oai, is also expected to decrease quickly.
According to statistics as of this morning (August 5th), the number of households affected by flooding has decreased to only about 266, mainly concentrated in Chuong My district. Currently, hundreds of households with thousands of people who had to be evacuated to ensure safety during the heavy rains and floods have basically returned home.
Over the past period, the Hanoi City Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee have paid special attention to and closely directed relevant departments and the People's Committees of flood-affected districts to comprehensively implement solutions to respond to and mitigate the consequences of natural disasters. The lives of people in flood-affected areas have been fully and promptly ensured.
According to Dao Quang Khai, Deputy Chief of the Office of the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Hanoi City, in order to proactively respond to weather developments and natural disasters, relevant departments and localities are requested to continue to strictly implement the directives of the Central Government and Hanoi City.
In the coming days, in addition to focusing on addressing the consequences, localities will continue to closely monitor weather developments and natural disasters; and prepare forces and resources according to the "four on-the-spot" principle to proactively and promptly respond to any potential natural disasters.
