On May 7, the Nam Dinh Provincial Department of Health reported to the Nam Dinh Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management - Ministry of Health , about a medical staff of Nam Dinh Provincial General Hospital being assaulted by a patient's family member.

According to a quick report from Nam Dinh General Hospital, at 6:32 a.m. on May 4, patient NVK was transferred from the Department of General Surgery to the Department of Intensive Care - Anti-Poisoning with the diagnosis: Acute pancreatitis - Common bile duct stones - Gastrointestinal bleeding - Cirrhosis - Type II diabetes in a state of circulatory arrest.

The hospital's on-call team quickly performed CPR and placed an endotracheal tube. After 30 minutes, the patient's pulse returned and he received intensive care and treatment.

At around 7:50 a.m. the same day, at the Intensive Care - Anti-Poison Department, nurse NVH was cursed and beaten in the head and face by a young man named NVT (33 years old), a relative of patient NVK.

The on-duty team notified the security guard, the hospital on-duty staff, and invited the police to handle the situation. Nurse NVH was taken to the hospital for examination and is being treated at the hospital's Neurosurgery Department with a diagnosis of head and facial trauma.

Nam Dinh Provincial General Hospital is coordinating with the police to clarify the incident.
