According to the Moscow Times, Alexander Bastrykin, head of the Russian Investigative Committee, said that approximately 10,000 migrants with Russian citizenship have been brought to the special military operations zone in Ukraine.
Alexander Bastrykin provided this information at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum on June 27. Russian law stipulates that any male who successfully applies for Russian citizenship must register for military service.

According to Russian media, the country recently passed a law simplifying the process of obtaining Russian citizenship. This has led to an increase in migration to Russia. According to a report by the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), cited by the state-run newspaper Vedomosti in May, more than 117,000 Central Asian migrants entered Russia in 2023, more than double the number in 2022. The actual number may be higher due to illegal immigration.
Russia is currently increasing the mobilization and deployment of additional resources to support its special military operation in Ukraine. Previously, President Vladimir Putin revealed that there are 700,000 Russian troops in the operational area.
