The most talked-about royal figure in May was Princess Elisabeth of Belgium. According to an announcement from the Belgian Royal Palace, the 23-year-old heir to the throne plans to travel to the United States this summer to pursue a master's degree at Harvard University. Her field of study will be public policy.
Princess Elisabeth (born 2001) is the eldest of four children (two daughters and two sons) of King Philippe and Queen Mathilde. Since 1991, Belgian law has stipulated that the throne is passed to the eldest child, regardless of whether they are a son or a daughter. According to British media, in addition to her native language, she is fluent in Dutch, French, German, and English, and also takes Mandarin (Chinese) classes.
Blessed with innate intelligence and a world-class education, Elisabeth exudes confidence when appearing before crowds and prominent figures. In March, she accompanied her father, the King, to Laeken Castle to welcome former US President Barack Obama.
Regarding her personal life, Elisabeth is in a relationship with Nick Dodd, a history student at Oxford University. According to British media, the lucky man with red hair is from Rochdale, a city near Manchester, United Kingdom.
