The person who "passes on the fire" to ethnic people

As a person who "ignites" the people in general, and the Khmer ethnic group in particular, to actively respond to activities and movements launched by the locality, Mr. Trieu Quang Hoi (44 years old, Khmer ethnic group, Head of the Salatel Management Board of Hiep Hoa Tay hamlet, Thanh Tung commune) has contributed greatly to the propaganda work, bringing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on ethnicity and religion to the community.

Mr. Trieu Quang Hoi said: “At community activities, I often propagate propaganda for people about the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; about the movement of the whole people uniting to build a cultural life, building new rural areas, civilized urban areas; preventing natural disasters, climate change; the movement of the whole people uniting to protect security and order, preventing social evils; preserving and promoting the nation's cultural traditions; sharing and receiving information on social networks need to be filtered, do not believe in bad people's instigation... Thanks to that, community activities, festivals, cultural beliefs are assured according to the provisions of the law; there are no hot spots, complications regarding ethnicity and religion".

In addition, as Head of Salatel Management Board, Mr. Hoi focuses on preserving and promoting the cultural identity, especially the language and writing of his ethnic group. In particular, promoting the tradition of solidarity and the spirit of mutual love, in 2022 and 2023 alone, he mobilized benefactors to support 65 gifts for poor and near-poor households of ethnic neighborhoods in Hiep Hoa Tay and Tan Ngoc hamlets; supporting notebooks and writing for 29 children to learn Khmer in the hamlet.

To understand policies related to ethnic affairs, Mr. Trieu Quang Hoi looked up information in books and newspapers to promptly disseminate it to the people.

In life, Mr. Hoi and his family are a shining example of the spirit of active labor, economic development, and legitimate enrichment. On 3 hectares of his family's agricultural land, he has boldly applied science, technology, and new techniques to an improved extensive shrimp farming model with little water change, ensuring food hygiene and safety associated with protecting the rural environment; at the same time, he has developed models of shrimp, crab, fish farming, livestock and poultry farming, and vegetable growing. These models bring in an average annual income of over 300 million VND.

From his own success, Mr. Hoi has actively shared production experiences with neighbors, introduced effective business models, thereby contributing to creating jobs and increasing income for households in the commune.

Mr. Trieu Quang Hoi (right cover) received a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on the occasion of the 2024 Congress of Ethnic Minorities of Ca Mau Province.

With his positive contributions to the community, for many consecutive years, Mr. Trieu Quang Hoi has been awarded certificates of merit by the Commune People's Committee, District People's Committee, and Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions. In particular, on the occasion of the 2024 Congress of Ethnic Minorities of Ca Mau Province , he was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee./.
