Paying tribute and sending condolences on the passing of former President Tran Duc Luong, diplomatic agencies expressed their condolences, affirming that he will be forever remembered for his important role in deepening Vietnam's international diplomatic and economic relations, as well as his commitment to Vietnam's peace and prosperity.
During the two-day state funeral of former President Tran Duc Luong, at the National Funeral Home No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong ( Hanoi ), many diplomatic delegations came to pay their respects and offer condolences to his family.
Fostering solidarity and friendship
Leading the high-ranking delegation of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party to pay tribute to former President Tran Duc Luong was Politburo member of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and Vice President of Laos Pany Yathotou.

On behalf of the Party, National Assembly, Government and Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction, Ms. Pany Yathotou expressed her deepest condolences at the passing of former President Tran Duc Luong.
"Comrade Tran Duc Luong was an outstanding leader of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, a shining example of loyalty and steadfastness of the Party, State and people of Vietnam. He was also a close friend and comrade of the Party, State and people of Laos. He made many contributions to promoting and nurturing the special friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties and States of Vietnam and Laos over the years," Ms. Pany Yathotou wrote in the condolence book.

According to Ms. Pany Yathotou, the passing of former President Tran Duc Luong is a great loss to the Party, State and people of Vietnam as well as the Party, State and people of Laos.
"We would like to express our deepest condolences for this great loss to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the State, the National Assembly, the Government, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Vietnamese people and the family of comrade Tran Duc Luong. May he rest in peace," Ms. Pany Yathotou wrote in the condolence book.
Vice President of the Cambodian People's Party, President of the National Council of the Solidarity Front for the Development of the Cambodian Motherland, President of the Cambodia - Vietnam Friendship Association Men Sam An led a high-ranking delegation of the Cambodian People's Party to pay tribute to former President Tran Duc Luong.

Writing in the condolence book, Ms. Men Sam An wrote: "The Cambodian People's Party would like to express its deepest condolences on the passing of Mr. Tran Duc Luong, former President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The Cambodian People's Party would like to express its deepest condolences to the Communist Party, Government and people of Vietnam, especially the family of the deceased, for this great loss...".

Former President Tran Duc Luong will be remembered forever.
Upon hearing the news of former President Tran Duc Luong's passing, on his personal page, Palestinian Ambassador Saadi Salama expressed his condolences to the Party, State, people of Vietnam and the family of the late President.
"Palestine mourns the loss of a faithful friend of the Palestinian people," Ambassador Saadi Salama affirmed.

Mr. Saadi Salama led the Diplomatic Corps in Hanoi to pay his respects to former President Tran Duc Luong. He said: "With deep respect and sincere condolences, I led the diplomatic delegation in Hanoi to sign the condolence book and express my respect to the late President Tran Duc Luong. We appreciate his contributions and send our condolences to his family, leaders and people of Vietnam."
On the first day of the State Funeral, more than 60 ambassadors and chargé d'affaires from foreign embassies in Vietnam gathered at the International Convention Center to attend the funeral and sign the condolence book for former President Tran Duc Luong.
The Ambassadors and Charge d'Affaires expressed their respect and condolences to former President Tran Duc Luong, who devoted his entire life to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the Vietnamese people as well as his efforts in cultivating good friendship with international friends.

Many fanpages of embassies in Vietnam posted deep condolences.
The U.S. Embassy in Vietnam shared: "The U.S. Mission in Vietnam wishes to express our deepest condolences on the passing of former President Tran Duc Luong of Vietnam. Mr. Tran Duc Luong played an important role in promoting relations and reconciliation between the United States and Vietnam. He welcomed the first U.S. President to visit Vietnam after the normalization of diplomatic relations, a historic milestone that opened the door to deeper cooperation and increased mutual understanding between the two countries."
The Australian Embassy in Vietnam affirmed: "Former President Tran Duc Luong will be remembered for his important role in deepening Vietnam's international diplomatic and economic relations, and his commitment to Vietnam's peace and prosperity. We would like to send our most sincere condolences to Vietnam - our long-standing friend and partner - at this sad time."
Also expressing condolences, the French Embassy in Vietnam assessed that former President Tran Duc Luong played an important role in the country's economic development and stability, as well as in strengthening bilateral relations between France and Vietnam.
"His strong commitment to the Francophone Community, in particular through the 7th Francophone Summit in Hanoi, which he opened alongside French President Jacques Chirac, has become a strong milestone in our cooperation. The French Embassy would like to express its sincere condolences to the entire family of former President Tran Duc Luong, to the Government, the Communist Party of Vietnam as well as to all the Vietnamese people," the fanpage of the French Embassy in Vietnam posted.
The funeral will take place at 3:00 p.m. the same day at his hometown cemetery in Pho Khanh commune, Duc Pho town, Quang Ngai province.
