Nguyen Khanh Linh 'surpasses herself' at the National Golf Championship

The 2025 Gia Lai National Golf Championship concluded 36 holes to determine the cut, with the 50 best golfers in the men's division and 12 golfers in the women's division winning the right to continue.

In particular, Nguyen Khanh Linh became the center of attention as the youngest athlete to pass the cut this year, at the age of 12. After two rounds, Khanh Linh scored 79-78 strokes, achieving a total score of +13, in a safe position compared to the cut of +19 in the women's category.

This achievement marks a big step forward for Khanh Linh compared to the 2024 season in Hai Phong , where she, at just 11 years old, was also the youngest golfer in the tournament but could not make the cut.

This year, her remarkable growth has helped Khanh Linh affirm her potential, continuing her impressive streak of performance when she won the first place in the women's group at stage 1 and stage 3 of the VGA Junior Tour, as well as the championship of the U12 women's group at the Vietnam Junior Open.

Meanwhile, two other 12-year-old golfers, Nguyen Ngo Thanh and Doan Dan Thanh, could not continue.

In the women's group, Nguyen Viet Gia Han made her mark with an explosive second round, shooting 70 strokes (-2), the best result of the tournament so far in both groups. The golfer born in 2011 recorded a total of 6 birdies, especially 9 bogey-free holes. With a total score of +3, Gia Han took the lead, 2 strokes ahead of Le Chuc An, who surpassed her in the 2024 championship race.

In the men's group, Do Duong Gia Minh continued to hold the top position with an even par total score after two rounds. Although he was unlucky in the second round with 6 bogeys and only recovered with 5 birdies (+1), Gia Minh is still the amateur athlete with the best result up to now.
