Da Nang International Terminal officially puts self-service baggage drop-off system into operation

Việt NamViệt Nam11/06/2024

Terminal T2's self-service baggage drop counters allow passengers to check in their baggage quickly and conveniently.

Accordingly, the self-check-in baggage counter at Terminal T2 allows Starlux Airlines passengers to check in their baggage quickly and conveniently. Passengers can easily use the touch screen to print a tag, then stick the tag on their baggage and place it on the conveyor belt. The system will automatically transport the baggage to the security control area and transfer it to the plane. In addition, the PAT (Passenger Assistant Team) will always be present around the self-check-in baggage counter area to assist passengers throughout the check-in process.

Previously, Terminal T2 officially put into operation the system of equipment such as self check-in kiosk, autogate, and self boarding gates.

In addition, the integration of the self-bag drop system at Terminal T2 this time allows passengers to use fully automated services from check-in, baggage drop, immigration and boarding. Thanks to that, the check-in process is significantly shortened, the passenger experience is enhanced, and the terminal's service efficiency during peak hours is also improved, ensuring smooth traffic flow.

In parallel with the deployment of an automated system in the aviation check-in process, AHT Company - the operator of Terminal T2 - has also been cooperating with FPT Technology Group in a cooperation plan to develop the first smart airport terminal model in Vietnam.

Specifically, AHT Company will work with FPT Group to develop a new website, an information evaluation and lookup system, an AI camera system to measure crowding density at check-in areas... The implementation of these technological solutions promises to bring passengers a smooth, safe and convenient experience.

In April 2024, in Frankfurt (Germany), Da Nang International Terminal received a 5-star rating certificate from Skytrax, the airline rating and rating organization. This is also the first and only international 5-star terminal in Vietnam today.
