Started in December 2019, Terminal T2 of Phu Bai Airport is a project invested by Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) with a total capital of VND 2,250 billion. During the Prime Minister's inspection of the project at the end of March 2023, the Project Management Board said that the project has been completed about 95% (85% accepted). According to the plan, the terminal can be put into operation during the upcoming April 30 - May 1 holidays. Inspired by the image of Ngu Mountain, this is a unique aviation project in Vietnam when it was built in the style of Hue royal palace with overlapping roofs. The terminal has a construction floor area of ​​about 22,380 m2, expected to serve 5 million passengers per year (of which 4 million are domestic passengers), ensuring service for 2,500 passengers during peak hours.

Designed by the unit that "draws" the Supreme People's Court Headquarters, the Supreme People's Procuracy Headquarters. According to research, the joint venture of Construction Technology, Equipment and Inspection Consulting Joint Stock Company - CONINCO and Azusa Sekkei Co., Ltd. - Japan is the general contractor for the design of this project. Operating since 1979, CONINCO has long been known as the design unit for a series of large political and economic projects, such as: Supreme People's Court Headquarters, Supreme People's Procuracy Headquarters, MB Grand Tower, Phu Bai International Airport... This unit also plays a major role in consulting, supervising, bidding... at the projects of the National Assembly House and the new Ba Dinh Hall, the headquarters of the Ministry of Public Security , the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the headquarters of the Military Radio and Television Center, the 5,000-seat gymnasium of Quang Ninh province, Hoang Van Thu Bridge in Hai Phong, the 108 Central Military Hospital, Vincom Royal City, Vincom Park Hill,...

The implementation time is 510 days. In which, the leading contractor of the winning Joint Venture is Vinaconex, undertaking more than 48% of the work volume. At the project, Vinaconex has completed many items serving the construction work at the project, including the shared office building; Temporary fence system, gate and construction site guard house; Service road system, drainage in the construction site; Transformer station serving the construction; General lighting system; Power supply system to the main cabinet; Sanitary area in the construction site; Project signboard; Clean water supply... In the field of aviation construction, before Phu Bai Terminal T2, Vinaconex was also a member of the TAISEI - VINACONEX contractor consortium to construct the T2 International Passenger Terminal - Noi Bai International Airport ( Hanoi ) with a total implementation value of over 37 billion JPY and nearly 5,342 billion VND.

As for ATAD Steel Structure Joint Stock Company, this unit is responsible for detailed design, production and installation of steel structure items with a total volume of nearly 2,700 tons.

REE Refrigeration and Electrical Engineering supplies and installs the electromechanical system at Terminal T2 of Phu Bai Airport. Before this project, REE was also the supplier and installer of electromechanical systems at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, Can Tho Airport Passenger Terminal; and supplies and installs mechanical and ventilation systems & BMS at Terminal T2 of Noi Bai Airport. In addition, according to research, Eurocs Construction Systems Co., Ltd. is the supplier of MSA Latchways anti-slip system for the roof system at the project.
