Attending the Congress on the side of the Government Party Committee were comrade Chu Van Dau - Member of the Party Committee Executive Committee, Deputy Head of the Government Party Committee's Organization Board, Deputy Head of the Steering Group for the 8th Congress of the Government Party Committee and comrades assisting the Steering Group for the 8th Congress of the Government Party Committee.

Also attending the Congress were members of the Party Executive Committee and 248 delegates, representing nearly 3,000 party members of 58 party organizations under the Ministry's Party Committee.
At the Preparatory Session, the Congress elected the Presidium consisting of 7 comrades; the Secretariat consisting of 3 comrades; and the Delegate Qualification Examination Committee consisting of 7 comrades.
On behalf of the Presidium, delivering the opening speech at the preparatory session, Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee, Secretary of the Ministry Party Committee, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung stated that after a period of active preparation, with the consent of the Standing Committee of the Government Party Committee, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism solemnly organized the 1st Congress, term 2020 - 2025.

The Party Congress of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has the task of summarizing and evaluating the implementation of the Resolution of the Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term. Based on a correct assessment of the current situation, affirming the achieved results, pointing out the difficulties and challenges, drawing out the causes and lessons learned, thereby setting out the directions, goals, tasks and solutions for the 2025-2030 term, closely following the guiding viewpoints of the Central Committee and the Politburo to focus on building and developing culture, tourism, sports, press and media.
The Congress will also focus on discussing and contributing opinions to draft documents to be submitted to the Government Party Congress and the 14th National Party Congress in the coming time, demonstrating the sense of responsibility, intelligence, solidarity and development aspirations of the entire Party Committee.
"With such extremely important contents, the Congress needs to focus on intelligence, solidarity, democracy, and promote a high sense of responsibility to complete the workload," Minister Nguyen Van Hung emphasized.

After the opening speech of Minister Nguyen Van Hung, the Congress voted to approve the Program and Working Regulations of the Congress.
Speaking at the end of the preparatory session, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Hai Binh said that the preparatory session had completed important contents to prepare for the official session of the Congress which will take place tomorrow (June 26).

After the preparatory session ended, delegates attending the Congress offered incense to report their achievements to Uncle Ho at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Square and the Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace.
The 1st Congress of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for the 2025-2030 term took place in the context that the entire sector is actively implementing strategic tasks in the spirit of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, which determined that cultural development is on par with economic, political and social development; sports and tourism are areas that contribute to building comprehensively developed Vietnamese people, forming national identity in the era of integration and development. This is a political event of special significance for all cadres, party members and workers in the entire sector of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The Congress has the task of summarizing and evaluating the implementation of the Resolution of the Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term, at the same time, setting out directions, goals, tasks and solutions for the 2025-2030 term, meeting the requirements of industry development in the new situation; The Congress will also focus on discussing and contributing opinions to draft documents submitted to Party Congresses at all levels, demonstrating the sense of responsibility, intelligence, solidarity and development aspirations of the entire Party Committee.
