Cao Van Lau Theater: Typical architectural work of the Southern provinces and cities

Cao Van Lau Theater ( Bac Lieu province) is one of 50 architectural works that have just been awarded a certificate of merit by the Vietnam Association of Architects (Architectures) as "Typical architectural works of the Southern provinces and cities - 50 years of national reunification" within the framework of the Conference "Vietnamese Architecture - 50 years of national reunification" organized by the Vietnam Association of Architects in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Architects on the morning of April 19 in Ho Chi Minh City. Architect Vuong Hoang Le - the author of the work - is the person who directly received this certificate of merit.

Also awarded certificates of merit this time are other typical works such as: SGGP Newspaper Building by Architect Tran Song Son, Hung Kings Memorial Area (in Thu Duc City and Thuan An - Binh Duong ), Ho Chi Minh City Children's House by Architect Nguyen Truong Luu, Ben Duoc - Cu Chi Memorial Temple by Architect Khuong Van Muoi, Ho Chi Minh City Student Cultural House at Ho Chi Minh City National University Village by Architect Nguyen Trung Kien...

Cao Van Lau Theater and Bac Lieu Province Cultural and Art Exhibition Center (commonly known as the Three Conical Hat Theater) has a total area of ^2,262m2 divided into 3 cylindrical blocks, the roof is shaped like a conical hat facing each other, the largest conical hat is over 24m high, the largest conical hat diameter is 45m, the roof is made of composite panels exactly the same color as the conical hat.

In 2014 (when it was just completed), the project was recognized by the Vietnam Records Organization (VietKings) as a Vietnam Record (also receiving this title was the "Largest stylized zither in Vietnam" at Hung Vuong Square, Bac Lieu City).

This is also one of the 12 typical tourist destinations in the Mekong Delta region, recognized by the Mekong Delta Tourism Association in December 2024.
