Bournemouth will look to boost their Champions League hopes when they host relegation-threatened Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Victory would see the Cherries complete a league double over Wolves for the first time since the 2014-15 Championship season, after they won 4-2 in the first leg at Molineux in November.
Latest Bournemouth vs Wolverhampton team information
Bournemouth are still without Evanilson (foot), Enes Unal (anterior cruciate ligament), James Hill, Marcos Senesi, Julian Araujo (all hamstring) and Adam Smith (muscle). However, Julio Soler is expected to return to the squad this week after helping Argentina finish runners-up at the South American Under-20 Championship.
Iraola was blessed with the return of Alex Scott and Luis Sinisterra last weekend, and Scott could be considered for a starting role in midfield. Tyler Adams and Ryan Christie are likely to continue to partner him in central midfield, though.
Bournemouth's Dango Ouattara has been directly involved in nine goals in his last 11 Premier League appearances (six goals, three assists), as many as he had in his first 60 appearances in the competition (three goals, six assists). The Burkina Faso forward is expected to continue leading the line for the Cherries.
For Wolves, Enso Gonzalez, Yerson Mosquera, Leon Chiwome and Sasa Kalajdzic remain sidelined with knee injuries, while January signing Emmanuel Agbadou is likely to miss the game after picking up a hamstring problem in the defeat to Liverpool.
Sam Johnstone, Rodrigo Gomes (both uninjured) and Hwang Hee-Chan (hamstring) will be assessed ahead of the game after missing the defeat at Anfield. However, the positive news is that Jorgen Strand Larsen has returned to training and could be fit enough to make the squad.
New signing Marshall Munetsi was surprisingly deployed as a striker when he came on in the second half against Liverpool. It remains unclear whether Pereira will continue to play the Zimbabwean up front on Saturday, or whether he will use an attacking trio of Goncalo Guedes, Pablo Sarabia and star Matheus Cunha – who has scored in each of his last three games.

Latest football commentary Bournemouth vs Wolverhampton
Bournemouth have been one of the big surprises of the season, with Andoni Iraola's side having enjoyed impressive form in recent months, losing just one of their last 15 games in all competitions (W10 D4).
The Cherries have won three of their last four Premier League games and extended their unbeaten away run to eight games (W6 D2) after beating bottom side Southampton 3-1 last weekend, with Dango Ouattara, Ryan Christie and Marcus Tavernier on target.
Iraola's side have capitalised on Chelsea and Newcastle United's slip-ups to move up to fifth in the table, just one point behind fourth-placed Manchester City and four behind third-placed Nottingham Forest. Bournemouth are now just five points away from their record Premier League points tally of 48, with 13 games still to play. They need just one more win to equal last season's tally of 13.
Bournemouth return to the Vitality Stadium this weekend, having lost 2-0 to leaders Liverpool in their last home game. However, they have not lost back-to-back home games in the league since October 2023, and notably, the second defeat in that run came against Wolves, a 2-1 defeat.
Bournemouth will be confident of taking all three points on Saturday, though, having picked up 20 points from their last 10 Premier League home games. They have also won three of their last four league meetings with Wolves, although all three of those victories have come away from home.
Wolves are in poor form, having lost five of their last six Premier League games. However, manager Vitor Pereira can take some positives from his side's recent performances against Aston Villa and Liverpool.
Two weeks after beating Aston Villa 2-0 at home, Wolves put up a tough fight against Liverpool and only narrowly lost 2-1. Pereira praised his side’s performance, particularly in the second half, when they did not allow Liverpool a single shot on target – something that had not happened at Anfield since records began in 2003-04.
However, the most important thing for Wolves right now is to accumulate points to avoid relegation. They are currently 17th in the rankings and only 2 points above the relegation zone, after Ipswich Town won 1 point in the previous round to shorten the gap.
Wolves have a good record when travelling to the Vitality Stadium, having remained unbeaten in their last four Premier League visits to Bournemouth (W2 D2). This is also the opponent against whom they have gone the longest unbeaten run in the competition's history.
However, the upcoming game will be a big test as Wolves travel to a top-six side for the fourth consecutive Premier League season, having lost all three of their previous games. In fact, Wolves have won just one of their last 28 away games against top-six sides (D3 L24), with their only win coming against Tottenham (4th) in a 2-1 win in February 2024.
