The spirit of the opening day
In the last days of May, Ba Chẽ commune was bustling with excitement as it launched the 2026 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign organized by the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union - Secretariat of the Vietnam Youth Union of the province. The green color of volunteers covered the roads, schools, and cultural centers, carrying with it the enthusiasm, responsibility, and desire to contribute of the youth.
At the launch event in Ba Chẽ commune, the Provincial Youth Union and its partners donated a farm management software platform to livestock farms in the province; a swimming pool for children in Ba Chẽ commune; funding for three swimming classes for children in the province; a "Smart TV classroom" at Nam Sơn Primary and Secondary School; and 10 bicycles for 10 disadvantaged students in Ba Chẽ commune, with a total cost of nearly 580 million VND.
The 2026 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign holds special significance as it is launched in the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Congress of the Party, the Resolution of the 16th Provincial Party Congress, and the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Quang Ninh Province. This is also a practical activity aimed at achieving accomplishments to celebrate the 13th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, term 2026-2031.
A new feature of the 2026 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign is that the Provincial Youth Union directed the simultaneous organization of five provincial-level launch points in the communes of Ba Chẽ, Lục Hồn, Hải Lạng and the wards of Uông Bí and Hoành Bồ, instead of only deploying it in one locality as in previous years. Also on May 23rd and 24th, youth unions in communes, wards, and special zones throughout the province simultaneously launched their campaigns, creating a vibrant and widespread atmosphere of young people entering a new volunteer season. Through social mobilization, youth union branches at all levels throughout the province have raised over 1 billion VND to implement many practical youth projects and activities aimed at the community right on the launch day of the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign.
Immediately after the launch ceremony, activities in response to the Campaign took place enthusiastically in various localities, such as: organizing "Popular Education" classes; training on drowning prevention for children and teenagers; the "Young Doctors Following Uncle Ho's Teachings" festival; providing free medical examinations and medicine to the people; voluntary blood donation; organizing trips to learn about historical and cultural sites and promote local tourism ; and simultaneously organizing environmental cleanup activities on "Green Sunday"...
Ms. Tran Thi Din (Ba Che commune) shared: "From early morning, a large number of people, from the elderly to young children, were present at the commune's health station waiting for free health check-ups. When young doctors from hospitals in the province came to the area to examine, advise on health, and provide free medicine, everyone was delighted. Not only were diseases detected early, but we were also guided on how to take care of our health to proactively prevent diseases for ourselves and our families."
According to Vu Thi Thuy Linh, Secretary of the Youth Union of the Provincial People's Committee: The Youth Union of the Provincial People's Committee was assigned to preside over and coordinate the launch of the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign and the Pink Holiday Campaign in 2026 in Ba Che commune, with the desire to create a vibrant atmosphere and spread the spirit of volunteerism from the very first days of the campaign. The simultaneous deployment of the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign at multiple launch points throughout the province has helped activities better meet the practical needs at the grassroots level, creating a wider impact in the community.
In particular, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union, in coordination with Ha Long University and Ha Long Sun Co., Ltd., signed a cooperation program to organize activities in the 2026 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign before the launch date, with practical contents such as: Youth volunteers participating in tourism development; music and art programs integrated with the promotion and advertising of Quang Ninh tourism; introducing local cultural values and people... This demonstrates the sense of responsibility, companionship, and determination of the units in promoting the youth's participation in local socio-economic development, contributing to building the image of Quang Ninh youth as dynamic, creative, responsible, and pioneering in the new era.
Enhance the aspiration to contribute.
The 2026 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign will continue to be implemented targeting various youth groups with one program, "Supporting Students During Exams," and four campaigns: Green Summer, Red Phoenix Flower, Pink Holiday, and Green March. The campaign will peak from June 1st to August 31st, with the motto "Widespread - Safe - Effective - Sustainable," focusing strongly on grassroots activities, linked to political tasks and the practical needs of each locality and unit. Simultaneously, it will concretize and effectively implement the contents of the Project "Vietnamese Youth Accompanying Children and Youth in Border Areas, 2025-2030."
Through this, we further affirm the role of young people in protecting sovereignty and border security, and supporting communities in disadvantaged areas; mobilizing social resources to organize activities to care for disadvantaged children, ensuring they have a fun, healthy, safe, enriching, and meaningful summer.
The campaign sets specific goals such as: Over 400,000 young people participating in volunteer activities organized by the Youth Union and Youth Association; implementing at least 25 youth projects at all levels participating in the development and application of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation; having at least 3 innovative youth startup projects supported in product and service output; 100% of communes and wards in border areas organizing at least one social welfare volunteer program; 100% of communes, wards, and special zones having at least one "Digital Literacy Team" and supporting the enhancement of digital capacity for at least 50,000 young people and citizens; organizing at least 100,000 young people to participate in activities supporting the enhancement of foreign language skills and international integration; striving to support 6,000-8,000 disadvantaged children...
Accordingly, the Youth Union at all levels proactively identifies the right target groups, selects the right areas and focuses on key implementation content, paying particular attention to effectively implementing several key tasks: Continuing to promote the "Digital Literacy Movement," supporting people in accessing digital skills, online public services, and practical digital utilities in daily life; promoting the role of young people in participating in the development of local and provincial tourism, contributing to affirming the image of a safe, civilized, and friendly destination; actively participating with local authorities in propaganda, mobilization, and support for land clearance for key projects in the province. At the same time, paying attention to the care of children and teenagers during the summer; organizing safe, healthy, and beneficial playgrounds; focusing on disseminating information and training on accident and injury prevention, drowning prevention, and self-protection skills for children.
Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Nguyen Vu affirmed: Entering this year's Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, the youth of Quang Ninh are carrying out activities in the context of the entire province resolutely implementing strategic goals and tasks, striving to achieve a GRDP growth rate of over 13%; at the same time focusing on completing the dossier, reporting to the Central Government and submitting it to the National Assembly for consideration and decision on the establishment of Quang Ninh city directly under the Central Government in 2026. This is an opportunity for the youth of the entire province to continue to demonstrate their role, responsibility, pioneering spirit, and proactive approach in participating in socio-economic development and caring for the lives of the people. At the same time, it concretizes the theme of the year's work of the Provincial Youth Union Executive Committee: "Strongly innovate the working methods of the Youth Union; pioneer in digital transformation and international integration; proactively participate in socio-economic development."
Each summer brings with it more youth projects, beautified roads, children filled with joy, and people receiving practical support and assistance. On this journey, the green volunteer uniform not only contributes to building the homeland but also ignites in each youth member a desire to contribute, a sense of responsibility, and pride in living a beautiful and meaningful life for the community.
