Employers have paid certain attention to OSH, taking care of workers' health; improving working conditions and the environment in places where workers do heavy and toxic work. In addition, employers have also strengthened self-inspection, screening, detecting unsafe risks and developing prevention plans right at workshops, production teams and groups; regularly urging and reminding employees to strictly comply with the provisions of the law on OSH. According to Mr. Ho Kim Phat, Head of the Department of Labor - Employment (Department of Home Affairs), in 2024 alone, the units coordinated with the Economic Zone Management Board to organize 16 conferences to disseminate legal dialogue on the Labor Code, Social Insurance Law, Employment Law, Occupational Safety and Health Law and guiding documents for implementation for 4,127 employees and employers in enterprises and public service organizations in the province. 47 enterprises organized occupational safety and health training for 8,600 participants; 855 machines, equipment and supplies with strict occupational safety and health requirements were inspected. Strict requirements on occupational safety and health
In recent times, the situation of occupational accidents in the province has remained complicated. According to reports from 47 enterprises, in 2024, 19 occupational accidents occurred, seriously injuring 3 people and slightly injuring 16 people. The accidents occurred mainly in the fields of industrial sewing, industrial glass production, etc. In addition, 14 occupational accidents occurred in areas without labor relations, killing 7 people and seriously injuring 7 people.
Faced with the above situation, the requirement for the province, localities, enterprises and production facilities is to focus on synchronously implementing solutions, continuing efforts to minimize occupational accidents, aiming to ensure absolute safety in production and business at enterprises and production facilities in the area.
According to Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs Phan Dai Thang, there are many causes of work-related accidents, such as: Employers do not develop safe working procedures and measures, do not provide personal protective equipment for workers; do not organize occupational safety and health training or do not provide adequate training for workers; machinery and equipment do not ensure safety when put into production operation... In addition, there are subjective causes of workers in violating occupational safety and health procedures and standards; do not use or do not use personal protective equipment properly. A small number of small-scale housing construction enterprises do not have a tight organizational structure; main contractors assign subcontractors to perform construction, hire freelance workers without labor contracts, are not equipped with occupational safety and health knowledge as well as equipment and means of labor protection.
By 2025, the whole province strives to reduce the frequency of fatal work accidents by 4%; increase the number of workers who receive occupational health examinations by 5%; and monitor the working environment by 5% of establishments. At the same time, strive to have 95% or more of those who manage and direct the implementation of occupational safety and health at the district level, the Management Board of Economic Zones, Industrial Parks, High-tech Agricultural Zones and Industrial Clusters receive training to improve their capacity in occupational safety and health. 85% of workers in occupations and jobs with strict requirements on occupational safety and health; 85% of people who have occupational accidents and diseases receive compensation and allowances according to the law. 100% of fatal occupational accidents are reported, investigated and handled according to the law.
