In the face of severe storms and floods in the Central and Central Highlands, many schools have implemented policies to support students in disaster-hit areas, such as tuition reduction, scholarships, tuition payment extensions, and study credit programs. Schools have also set up points to receive donations, relief goods, and necessities to share with people in flood-affected areas.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (UEH) announced the expansion of the support program for students affected by storms, floods, and natural disasters in 2025. Students from 5 provinces and cities: Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Dak Lak , Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong will receive a 10% reduction in tuition fees for the final semester of 2025, deducted from the tuition fees for the first semester of 2026. For students of the 48th course who have graduated, the support will be transferred directly to their accounts.

In early October 2025, these policies were applied to students in 19 provinces and cities that suffered heavy damage caused by storm No. 10 (Bualoi) in the Northern and North Central regions, including: Ha Tinh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Tri, Ninh Binh, Hue, Son La, Phu Tho, Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang, Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, Hanoi , Hai Phong City, Hung Yen, Da Nang City.

"To reduce financial pressure and stabilize after the damage caused by storms and floods, the school continues to extend the tuition payment deadline for the first semester of 2026 to January 25, 2026 (longer than the previous support policy), applicable to students in 24 provinces and cities," the announcement stated.

The school also awarded 100 scholarships with a total value of more than 1.35 billion VND. Of which, 70 scholarships (more than 14 million VND/scholarship) are for full-time students of courses 48, 49, 50, 51; the remaining 30 scholarships (12 million VND/scholarship) are for full-time students, first degree students and part-time students.

Similarly , Hong Bang International University announced support for students whose families suffered losses in the storms and floods in 2025. The beneficiaries are full-time students at the school in the first semester of the 2025-2026 school year; with permanent residence in areas heavily affected by storms and floods in the Central and Northern provinces; families in difficult circumstances who suffered loss of life or property due to storms and floods in 2025. Students need confirmation from local authorities, or a record of the incident between the Student Experience and Employment Center and the student.

The school representative said that the level of support is based on the actual damage and the school's financial support. Students must submit their application to the Student Management Office by November 26.

In addition to tuition support, universities also organize reception points, relief, and donation of necessities to promptly support people in the Central and Central Highlands regions affected by storms and floods.

On November 24, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade called on businesses and philanthropists to join hands in donating necessities, school supplies, clothes... to support people in the flood-hit areas of the Central Highlands and Central Vietnam.

"In recent days, prolonged storms and floods have caused severe damage in Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, Gia Lai provinces and some neighboring areas. Many schools have been affected, students' books and learning materials have been washed away or damaged, making it extremely difficult for students to continue their studies," said a school representative.

The school launched the 4th “Nurturing the Future” program, calling on benefactors to join hands to support school bags, notebooks, pens, raincoats, etc., to help children return to school soon and nurture their dreams of studying. The time for receiving donations is until December 4.

Previously, the Youth Union - Student Association of the University of Natural Sciences (Ho Chi Minh City National University) organized a receiving point to send relief aid to the Central provinces affected by floods (receiving time from November 22 - 24).

On the morning of November 23, a group of nearly 30 officials, civil servants and students from Ho Chi Minh City National University set off for Khanh Hoa, bringing essential goods and the spirit of “mutual love and support” to support people in flooded areas.

On the same day, the University of Finance and Marketing sent an open letter to lecturers, students and alumni calling for participation in the program "UFM Youth join hands to support the people of Central Vietnam".
