Many solutions to implement Resolution 57 of the Politburo

The workshop attracted the participation of many scientists , research and teaching staff, agencies and departments of provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta and some provinces and cities in the Southeast region.

However, the Mekong Delta is also facing many huge challenges such as climate change, saltwater intrusion, land subsidence, water resource depletion, limited science and technology development and innovation, and uneven digital transformation.

The Mekong Delta is a land of special strategic importance in terms of economy , society, national defense and security of the whole country.

Applying breakthrough solutions in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation in the spirit of Resolution 57-NQ/TW will be the "key" to help the Mekong Delta overcome challenges, promote potential and advantages, and move towards sustainable development and prosperity.

The contents of the presentations and discussions at the Workshop are meaningful in contributing to concretizing and determining a specific roadmap for the Mekong Delta to effectively implement Resolution 57-NQ/TW.

The implementation of Resolution 57 of the Politburo on "breakthrough in science, technology development, innovation and national digital transformation" in the Mekong Delta requires specific, synchronous solutions suitable to the characteristics of the region.

It is impossible to mechanically apply models from other countries or regions, but requires research, reference and creative, flexible and effective application.

It is necessary to have in-depth research and assessment of the current situation, potential, advantages as well as difficulties and obstacles of each locality in the region in the process of implementing the Resolution.

At the same time, this is a prerequisite to turn science and technology into endogenous strength, promoting rapid and sustainable growth, especially in the context that the Mekong Delta, together with the whole country, has just carried out a revolution to streamline the political system, merge administrative boundaries between localities and is initially operating a 2-level local government system.

Focus on assessing the current situation of each locality in terms of: science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation in the activities of the government, educational and training institutions, enterprises, production, business and trade entities; and all classes of people in the area.

Applying advanced achievements in science, technology, digital transformation in the fields of agriculture, industry, services, trade, and climate change adaptation; assessing the current status of technology infrastructure development, digital human resources, etc.

Proposing synchronous and feasible solutions related to: Improving the quality of digital human resources; Completing policy mechanisms, encouraging businesses to invest in innovation; Piloting and replicating smart agriculture models, smart cities, and community digital technology teams.

The contents of the presentations and discussions at the Workshop are meaningful in contributing to concretizing and determining a specific roadmap for the Mekong Delta to effectively implement the Resolution, thereby making an important contribution to the country's sustainable development in the new era.
