The 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) taking place in Ho Chi Minh City is an important historical political event of the country, which has been given special attention and close direction by the Politburo and the Secretariat, setting high requirements for the organization of commemorative activities, ensuring that they are both practical, effective, meaningful in honoring, expressing gratitude, propagating, and deeply educating about political ideology, while also being new, attractive, safe, economical, and aimed at the people, so that people can enjoy them.
On this occasion, the City plans to organize fireworks displays at 7 locations including: Saigon River Tunnel area, Thu Duc city; Ben Duoc Martyrs Memorial Temple, Cu Chi district; Nga Ba Giong Martyrs Memorial Area, Hoc Mon district; Lang Le - Bau Co relic site, Binh Chanh district; Can Gio district football field; National Historical - Cultural Park; Dam Sen Cultural Park.
In addition to the 7 planned fireworks display locations mentioned above, the City Command is mobilizing districts and businesses located in the City to participate in the socialization of local fireworks display (separate plan).

Providing more information about the activities on the occasion of April 30 and May 1 this year in Ho Chi Minh City, the Department of Culture and Sports said that the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) was identified as the top important political task, prioritized and mobilized all the efforts of the culture and sports sector to carry out with the highest determination to successfully organize the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) taking place on the morning of April 30, 2025.
With that determination, in addition to advising Ho Chi Minh City to coordinate with ministries, central departments and branches as well as provinces and cities nationwide according to the direction of the Central Steering Committee on organizing the celebration of major holidays and important historical events in the 3 years of 2023-2025, the Department of Culture and Sports has also proactively coordinated with departments, branches, Thu Duc City, districts and towns to advise the City People's Committee to consider directing the organization of emulation activities to achieve achievements to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025); organize exhibitions, propaganda, culture, arts, sports, etc.
