A series of 17 banks raise interest rates.

According to Lao Dong newspaper, by the end of August, the market saw 17 banks increase savings interest rates, including: Eximbank, ACB, Agribank, Sacombank, Saigonbank, VietBank, TPBank, CBBank, VIB, Dong A Bank, VPBank, Techcombank,SHB , VietBank, PVCombank, Nam A Bank, and HDBank.

Listed banks increased interest rates by an average of 0.3 - 0.3 percentage points across various maturities, especially for 6-month and 9-month terms; some banks even increased by as much as 0.8 percentage points, such as Sacombank .

In August, one of the Big4 banks saw an interest rate increase: Agribank . Agribank's interest rates rose by 0.1-0.2 percentage points across various maturities, currently ranging from 1.7% to 4.8% per year.

Conversely, the savings interest rate market in August also saw three banks reduce their savings interest rates.

ABBank listed interest rates down by 0.1 - 0.3 percentage points across most maturities; SeABank also listed interest rates down by 0.25 percentage points across maturities; Bac A Bank also recorded a decrease of 0.1 - 0.2 percentage points.

Where can I deposit money to get an interest rate above 7.5% per year?

Dong A Bank is offering a special interest rate of 7.5% per annum for customers depositing for a term of 13 months or more, with interest paid at the end of the term, for deposits of 200 billion VND or more, for a 365-day period.

HDBank also offers special interest rates of 8.1%/year for a 13-month term and 7.7%/year for a 12-month term. This applies to savings accounts with a minimum deposit of VND 500 billion or more per savings card, and does not apply to deposits with interest paid upfront or periodically.

Next is the interest rate of 9.5%/year offered at PVcomBank. PVcomBank customers will enjoy this special interest rate of 9.5%/year when they have new deposit balances of VND 2,000 billion or more.
