From June 1st, gasoline retailers in Ha Tinh province officially began mandating the sale of E10 bioethanol fuel, completely replacing RON95 mineral gasoline, in accordance with the roadmap for transitioning to environmentally friendly fuels as stipulated in Circular No. 50/2025/TT-BCT of the Ministry of Industry and Trade . At 242 gasoline stations across the province, businesses have simultaneously started selling E10 fuel. The pumps have been updated with complete information identifying this new fuel, making it easy for customers to distinguish the product.
Observations on the first day of mandatory implementation showed that sales activities were stable, with no disruption or panic among the public.

According to representatives from several petroleum distribution companies and units, many gas stations had already started selling E10 gasoline before the mandatory implementation to gradually carry out the transition plan. This allowed people time to experience and gradually become familiar with the new product instead of making an abrupt switch.
Ms. Le Thi Hai Yen (Thanh Sen ward) shared: “As a consumer, I am willing to accept new types of fuel if they ensure quality, safety for the engine, and environmental friendliness. After using E10 gasoline, my car still runs smoothly, so I feel quite reassured and ready to continue using it in the future.”

After about 10 days of experiencing the new fuel, Mr. Tran Duc Thang (from Co Dam commune) said: “I use a 2013 Vios car as my means of transportation and have filled up with E10 gasoline twice. Initially, I was a little concerned about its compatibility with the engine and fuel consumption because there were quite a few conflicting opinions on social media. However, after learning more information from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, especially the biofuel usage guide, I feel more reassured.”
Observations at many retail gas stations show that, although there are still some concerns related to the new fuel type, the majority of people have proactively sought official information, learning more about the composition, characteristics, and compatibility of E10 gasoline with their vehicles.

E10 gasoline is a fuel blend consisting of 10% ethanol and 90% RON95 grade III mineral gasoline. The transition to using E10 bio-gasoline is one of the important steps towards implementing the roadmap for clean energy development, reducing emissions, ensuring energy security, and aiming for green growth and sustainable development.
According to the E10 bioethanol fuel user manual published by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, this type of fuel is fully compatible and safe for all new generation motorcycles and cars currently in circulation in Vietnam.

Vehicles that require caution when using biofuel include very old vehicles manufactured before 2000, vehicles with older carburetors, vehicles that have not had their fuel systems inspected or maintained for many years, restored vehicles, and collectible vehicles. For these types of vehicles, it is recommended to inspect, maintain, and replace, if necessary, the fuel system components, including the fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel filter, carburetor, fuel injectors, and fuel lines.
Engine weakness has been confirmed when using biofuel, but the difference in power and fuel consumption is very small. E10 gasoline has a lower calorific value but burns more completely, reducing HC and CO emissions by 20-30%. Increased fuel consumption also occurs, but only in some cases, and this consumption is not significant under normal operating conditions.

Mr. Le Xuan Tu, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Ha Tinh province, said: "To stabilize the E10 gasoline business, the department continues to focus on disseminating information and providing guidance to help users understand bio-gasoline correctly, trust and support the policy of using bio-gasoline to replace traditional mineral gasoline in order to achieve the goal of building a green economy , a low-carbon economy, contributing to fulfilling the commitment to bring net emissions to "zero" by 2050."
Along with propaganda efforts, the Department of Industry and Trade will coordinate with relevant authorities to strengthen inspection and supervision of the retail sale of E10 gasoline at gas stations in the area; promptly rectify cases of non-compliance with conversion regulations, and at the same time ensure the supply of gasoline to meet the production, business and daily life needs of people and businesses."
