On the morning of November 15, at the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Thua Thien - Hue province, the exhibition "General Nguyen Chi Thanh and the Southern Revolution" opened, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, the 80th anniversary of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and towards the 50th anniversary of national reunification (1975 - 2025).
Delegates visited and studied documents and images about General Nguyen Chi Thanh and the Southern revolution.
The exhibition is organized by the Ho Chi Minh Museum of Thua Thien - Hue province, the Thua Thien - Hue History Museum in coordination with the family of General Nguyen Chi Thanh.
The exhibition introduces more than 150 documents and images about the revolutionary situation in the North and South after the Geneva Agreement in 1954; General Nguyen Chi Thanh's path to the South; General Nguyen Chi Thanh's instructions and orientations on the battlefield; major campaigns bearing the mark of General Nguyen Chi Thanh and the following stages of the Vietnamese revolutionary generations, including many documents and press works of the general published and introduced to the people of Thua Thien - Hue for the first time.

In particular, the exhibition introduces documents and images related to the event exactly 60 years ago, in October 1964, when the Politburo - headed by President Ho Chi Minh - decided to send General Nguyen Chi Thanh, Politburo member and Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, to the battlefield.
General Nguyen Chi Thanh entered the battlefield with the responsibility of being the Secretary of the Central Office for Southern Vietnam, Political Commissar of the armed forces for the liberation of the South, directly leading the revolution in the South with Uncle Ho's advice: "Together with the people of the South, fight the Americans until victory."

Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha, daughter of General Nguyen Chi Thanh, said that with the responsibility of Secretary of the Central Office for Southern Vietnam and Political Commissar of the Southern Liberation Armed Forces, General Nguyen Chi Thanh had years of close ties with the people and soldiers on the front lines fighting the Americans.
The General also devoted all his energy and intelligence to research and closely follow reality, making scientific and accurate assessments of the enemy; determining how to fight and directing battles to defeat the American invaders.
The victory of the campaign named after beloved Uncle Ho in spring 1975 is not only a source of pride for Vietnam but also a source of encouragement for peace-loving peoples around the world.

Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha also said that the General Nguyen Chi Thanh Museum in Hanoi and Hue City has welcomed more than 26,000 visitors in the past 2 years. Of which, the museum in Hanoi welcomed 5,440 visitors for sightseeing and themed activities; the museum in Hue City welcomed 21,688 visitors.
