Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry is also opening two new majors this year: integrated circuit design and digital marketing. The university expects to enroll 8,000 students.
Regarding the proposed admission plan from 2025, a representative from Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry stated that the university will still use the results of the high school graduation exam for admission, but may consider adjusting the subject combinations for admission.
Many universities have also announced their admission methods and majors, with most maintaining stable admission procedures.
For example, the University of Transport. This year, the University of Transport is recruiting students through four methods with more than 6,000 available slots.
Accordingly, for method 1, the University of Transport and Communications will consider applications based on the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam and national and international awards won by students.
The results of the 2024 high school graduation exam will be used for admission. The admission score is the sum of the scores of the three subjects in the registered admission combination and priority points (if any).
Direct admission for students who have won national or international awards. Specifically, candidates who have won first, second, or third prize in national or international student excellence competitions or national or international science and technology competitions organized or nominated by the Ministry of Education and Training ; whose award was won no more than 3 years prior to the date of direct admission, and who have graduated from high school, will be directly admitted to the university in a major relevant to their competition subject.
Method 2: Admission and Training in Hanoi (GHA code): Using high school academic results (based on high school transcripts) for admission to most majors. Candidates who have graduated from high school must have a total score of three subjects in the admission combination (average score of grade 10 plus average score of grade 11 plus average score of grade 12) plus priority points (if any) at or above the minimum score required to submit an application (the minimum score required to submit an application for each major will be announced in detail later), in which the average score of any of the three subjects in the admission combination is not below 5.50 points.
For candidates using an admission combination that includes English, an IELTS certificate with a score of 5.0 or higher (valid until the admission date) may be used as a substitute for the English score in their academic transcript, and this score will be converted according to the school's regulations.
Admissions and training at the Ho Chi Minh City branch campus (GSA code): High school academic results are used for admission consideration in most programs.
High school graduates with a total score of three subjects in the admission combination (average score of grade 10 plus average score of grade 11 plus average score of the first semester of grade 12) plus priority points (if any) equal to or higher than the minimum score required to submit an application (the minimum score required to submit an application for each major will be announced later), in which no three subjects in the admission combination have an average score below 5.50 points.
Method 3: Admission based on the results of the Hanoi University of Science and Technology's aptitude assessment for some majors offered and taught in Hanoi, and admission based on the results of the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City's competency assessment for some majors offered and taught at the Ho Chi Minh City branch.
Method 4: Combining an IELTS English certificate with a score of 5.0 or higher (valid until the admission date) and the total score of two subjects (Mathematics and one non-foreign language subject) in the admission combination (average score of grade 10 plus average score of grade 11 plus average score of grade 12) plus priority points (if any) reaching 15.00 points or higher, applicable to some majors and training programs in Hanoi.
The minimum application scores for each major will be announced later. When calculating the total admission score, the IELTS score conversion will be used according to the university's regulations.
In 2024, the enrollment quota for regular and high-quality programs at the University of Transport is 6000 (4500 in Hanoi, 1500 at the Ho Chi Minh City branch). The enrollment quota for international joint programs is 90.
