Accordingly, 104 private and public high schools with financial autonomy enroll 10th grade students through two methods: using the results of the public 10th grade entrance exam and considering secondary school transcripts.
Many private high schools in Hanoi consider both academic records and exam scores to enroll students in grade 10 for the next school year.
Two schools do not apply the admission method based on academic records but only use the results of the public 10th grade entrance exam organized by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training. They are the High School ofEducational Sciences (University of Education, Vietnam National University, Hanoi) and Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary and High School (Hanoi National University of Education).
The remaining 102 schools developed admission plans based on academic records (training and learning results of students at secondary school level); of which about 40 schools considered admission using both methods: using the results of the non-specialized public 10th grade exam and academic records.
In addition, Hanoi also has 3 private high schools with foreign investment, enrolling 16 grade 10 students with 395 students. Along with that, there are 9 autonomous public high schools enrolling 86 grade 10 students with 3,685 students.
The enrollment plan of each school is as follows:
According to regulations, students submit applications to these high schools from April 20 to June 20. According to the plan of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, students admitted to grade 10 of private and self-financed public high schools in the city will submit their applications to the school from July 10 to 22.
The application file for grade 10 includes the following documents: application form (according to the form); birth certificate (copy with original for comparison or certified copy); junior high school diploma (original or certified copy) or temporary junior high school graduation certificate (for students graduating from junior high school in the 2022-2023 school year); transcript (original); ID card or CCCD card of the student, or the student's father, mother, or guardian (copy with original for comparison or certified copy).
