According to records, the Vietnamese market has recently seen the emergence of many AI-integrated healthcare applications. Relive, a domestic start-up, uses phone cameras and AI to monitor motor recovery, warning users when they practice wrong movements. Meanwhile, the Pulse by Prudential application provides health check-ups, AI-based symptom consultation and online doctor connection. There is also eDoctor, a platform that provides remote consultation services, personal health record tracking, home testing and health monitoring via mobile applications.
B&Company, a Japanese market research company, forecasts that the healthcare application market in Vietnam will grow strongly in the period 2025-2030 at a rate of 11.45%/year. According to B&Company, this boom comes from the need to access high-quality medical services in the context of overloaded public hospitals, a rapidly expanding middle class, increased income and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, people increasingly prefer convenient, personalized services instead of completely depending on direct medical examination and treatment.
"However, the market still has many barriers such as no insurance reimbursement mechanism via application, unclear legal liability regulations. In addition, the elderly group is also hesitant to access technology, many doctors are also cautious due to concerns about disruption of work processes" - B&Company analyzed.
