Mr. Phan Hoang Lon, Secretary of the Ban Quy Hamlet Party Branch, beamed with joy. “Now that our dream has come true, on behalf of the people of the hamlet, I thank the sponsors and the local government for connecting us and helping us get this dream bridge. The people of Ban Quy Hamlet are truly overjoyed. For a long time, the people on both sides were separated by the river, but now they can cross easily,” Mr. Phan Hoang Lon shared.
The Bridge of Unity has connected shores of joy. Children are excited and will be able to confidently go to school without depending on the ebb and flow of the tides. Tô Minh Ân, a student in Class 4B at Primary School I in Viên An Đông commune, shared: "Although my house is less than 1 km from the school, because of the river, my family had to take me to and from school twice a day by boat. Having this bridge makes me very happy because from now on I can go to school by bicycle, saving my father the trouble of taking me by boat anymore."
The students were thrilled to have a bridge built across the river, as it would make it easier for them to get to school.
Mr. Le Hong Ngan, a sponsor (District 9, Ho Chi Minh City), has been supporting poor and disadvantaged people for many years. In areas with difficult access and housing challenges, his family directly connects with and mobilizes philanthropists, traveling to the area to deliver donations, contributing to improving the lives of the local people.
“Coming here and witnessing the hardships faced by the local people, my heart feels heavy. I am delighted and happy to have helped build this bridge for them. Going forward, we will continue to connect with benefactors to support people in remote areas of Ngoc Hien district who have difficulty traveling,” Mr. Ngan expressed.
Mr. Huynh Van Thong, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Vien An Dong commune, shared: "The local government has strived to improve the lives of the people and considered investing in the construction of rural roads. However, due to a lack of funding, some branch roads located far from the commune center are still difficult to access. Currently, Vien An Dong commune has achieved the new rural standard and is determined to build an advanced new rural commune. We urgently need support from higher levels, philanthropists, and benefactors to contribute to improving the lives of the people and beautifying the rural landscape."
