Information Bridge

The local public address system continues to affirm its essential role as a bridge between the Party, the State, and the people. Especially in the trend of digital transformation, localities have proactively developed broadcasting channels on social media, helping people access information anytime, anywhere.

Mr. Nguyen Van Quan, from Ban Khien residential area, shared that he consistently maintains the habit of waking up early at 5:30 AM every day to exercise and listen to the radio program before going to the fields. Information about provincial and commune events, as well as practical knowledge about seasons, crop varieties, and effective economic models, broadcast through the commune's loudspeakers, has provided farmers with valuable information.

Lam Binh commune currently maintains nearly 100 loudspeakers in its villages and residential areas. These loudspeakers are primarily placed in community centers and sports fields to provide residents with convenient access to relevant information. The broadcasts focus on local news, village meeting announcements, program and project implementation, production support, disaster and disease prevention, maintaining security and order, and promoting cultural development. As a result, residents are able to stay informed, proactively plan their work, and effectively participate in local movements and activities.

To address the problem of residents working far from home or not being present in the locality during the fixed broadcast times, the Public Service Center and the Culture Departments of the communes have proactively applied digital technology to modernize broadcasting.

In Ho Thau commune, the public address system plays a crucial role in the new rural development program, creating a strong ripple effect, igniting a vibrant spirit of competition, and mobilizing the consensus of all segments of the population to work together. For example, in Tan Quang village, previously, due to a lack of full understanding of the significance of the new rural development program, many households were hesitant and unwilling to donate land or contribute labor to road construction.

In response to this situation, the commune's Party committee and government have intensified information and propaganda efforts, and the public address system is maintained in regular operation. In parallel with broadcasting through the loudspeakers, the commune also records and edits audio files into electronic formats and periodically uploads them to the commune's Facebook fan page and village Zalo groups. Thanks to this method, those studying or working far away can still listen to news from their hometown.

Mr. Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Director of Public Services in Ho Thau Commune, said: "Ho Thau Commune has a large area, and previously, some residents had limited access to technology, so loudspeakers were the core solution. However, the percentage of people using smartphones has increased significantly. Putting radio programs on social media is like a form of 'digital broadcasting on demand.' People can listen again anytime, thus increasing the effectiveness of the communication."

Khuon Lung commune was established by merging two communes, Khuon Lung and Na Chi, with a natural area of over 120 square kilometers and a population of over 8,000 people. After the merger, Khuon Lung commune has a large geographical area, a scattered population, and difficult transportation, posing challenges in propaganda work. Therefore, the local public address system combined with online platforms has been identified as the main solution and information channel.

Comrade Lo Van Son, Chairman of the People's Committee of Khuon Lung commune, said: "Bringing radio programs to the internet not only expands the reach but also creates a direct two-way interactive channel through the comment section."

Local public address systems are also considered an "extended arm" in the information and propaganda work of local authorities. Maintaining regular broadcasts with relevant content not only changes people's perceptions but also ensures that policies and guidelines are conveyed promptly and accurately.
