After the administrative boundary merger, Muong Chanh commune, a land rich in cultural and historical traditions of the province, has entered a new stage of development. The Party Committee, government and people of the commune unanimously promote advantages, create new momentum, increase income, and gradually improve the quality of people's lives.

Mr. Nguyen Bien Cuong, Chairman of Muong Chanh Commune People's Committee, shared: The commune was established on the basis of merging the old Muong Chanh and Chieng Chung communes, with 17 villages; the administrative boundaries were expanded, creating a premise for sustainable development. The commune determined to develop the economy according to the advantages of each region, in the center of the commune, focusing on developing small-scale industry, trade - services, forming concentrated business locations, wholesale markets, transportation services; in the highland villages, far from the center, developing cultivation and livestock in the direction of goods. With the potential and advantages of developing industrial crops, especially coffee, the commune encourages people to apply high technology, link to establish cooperatives, form production chains, process and consume products; build safe, organic agricultural production models, associated with experiential tourism.

Coming to Muong Chanh now, from Ten Hia village, to Den village, Tuong Chung, Cang Muong, Long Nghiu, spacious high-rise buildings are springing up among fruitful coffee gardens. The whole commune currently has over 1,330 hectares of coffee, linking production with processing. A typical example is the Ara-Tay Coffee Cooperative, which has successfully built a specialty coffee brand over the years, signing contracts with over 130 households in the commune to grow and care for 300 hectares of coffee according to VietGAP and organic standards; linking to buy fresh fruit for people at a price 3,000 VND/kg higher than the market price. Each year, the Cooperative sells 8-10 tons of beans and ground coffee to the market; Aratay Coffee products achieve 4-star OCOP, supplying coffee shops in Hanoi and provinces and cities across the country, and are well received by consumers.

Households in Den village, Muong Chanh commune preserve the craft of making handmade pottery.

Ms. Cam Thi Mon, Director of Ara-Tay Coffee Cooperative, shared: When starting to build a brand, the cooperative members were forced to change the habit of picking both green and unripe coffee beans, to picking only ripe coffee beans for high quality. All stages from harvesting, transporting, washing beans, drying and packaging... are carried out according to the correct technical process. On average, each year, the cooperative purchases and processes more than 1,000 tons of fresh fruit for cooperative members and associated production households. The cooperative's annual revenue reaches nearly 2 billion VND; each member earns 45 - 50 million VND/year.

Muong Chanh is famous for its Tan Nhe sticky rice variety, which is grown on nearly 30 hectares in some villages with fields along Nam Chanh stream. Nong Ten Tan Nhe Cooperative has pioneered organic rice cultivation, with an area of over 3 hectares, strict planting and care processes, using only microbial fertilizers and composted manure for fertilization, rice yield reaches 4.5 tons/ha, good rice quality.

Mr. Hoang Van Hoa, Director of Nong Ten Tan Nhe Cooperative, said: The Cooperative has mobilized 30 member households to participate in growing local Tan Nhe sticky rice, supplying the market with about 15 tons of rice each year, selling at 30,000 VND/kg, with revenue reaching about 450 million VND. The Cooperative continues to expand its production scale, building Muong Chanh Tan Nhe sticky rice into an OCOP product.

The highland villages of Muong Chanh commune develop livestock farming.

With the advantage of Provincial Road 117 passing through, Muong Chanh focuses on developing trade and services, the commune has nearly 500 shops, business and service points. In addition, the commune also mobilizes people to raise livestock in the direction of goods, maintaining over 9,300 cattle, nearly 72,000 poultry; growing over 100 hectares of grass for livestock. Currently, the poverty rate is 3%. The economy is developing, life is stable, people actively contribute labor and money to implement the new rural construction program, along with the support of the State, many cultural houses, traffic, schools have been invested in and built spaciously.

Muong Chanh, a land rich in revolutionary traditions, is being renewed after the merger process. These changes not only reshape the administrative appearance but also open up opportunities for economic and cultural development and improve people's lives.
