In 2024, Hamlet 9, Dong Hoa Commune, still had 2 poor households. Thanks to the attention of the local government and the efforts of the people, both households have now escaped poverty sustainably. Alongside economic development, the movement to build a green, clean, and beautiful landscape has been strongly supported by the people. The local government mobilized people to implement the "Lighting Up the Countryside" project, voluntarily planting green hedges and ornamental flowers along the main roads. In addition, people actively contributed labor and funds to carry out public works such as road construction and rural bridge building.
Nguyen Ngan Phuong, Secretary of the Party Branch of Hamlet 9, Cho Nguyen Ngan Phuong, said: “In the past, we have focused on disseminating information and encouraging people to switch production models and boldly develop family economies. At the same time, we have promoted the spirit of mutual support, helping each other to borrow capital and share experiences to rise out of poverty together. Thanks to the spirit of solidarity and strong community awareness, Hamlet 9 Cho has not only achieved sustainable poverty alleviation but has also become a shining example in the new rural development movement of Dong Hoa commune.”
With a diligent and creative spirit, Mr. Phan Hoang Nhu, residing in Tu Hat hamlet, Giong Rieng commune, is determined to escape poverty. He boldly invested in digging ponds to raise commercial carp, utilizing water resources and accumulated experience to expand production. Thanks to his hard work in learning and applying proper care techniques, Mr. Nhu earns tens of millions of dong in profit each season. To date, his family has a stable and prosperous life, becoming a prime example in the local economic development movement.
Over the years, the people of Tri Ton hamlet, Hon Dat commune, have strived to overcome difficulties and develop their economy, improving their living standards. Thanks to the attention of the Party committee and government, and the spirit of solidarity and mutual support within the community, the hamlet now has no poor households, marking a clear transformation in the new rural development movement.
Party Secretary of Tri Ton Hamlet, Truong Huu Phuc, shared: “From 2020 to the present, Tri Ton Hamlet has coordinated the propaganda and mobilization to build 6 new solidarity houses; mobilized people to contribute funds to expand roads and implement the “Lighting up the Countryside” model with a total cost of over 20 million VND. The work of promoting education and talent, and caring for poor students has been given attention. The hamlet donated 2,000 notebooks and 5 bicycles to students in difficult circumstances; mobilized 8 tons of rice and essential goods to support near-poor households and households in difficult circumstances. Every year, the poverty rate decreases by an average of 1-2%, while the number of well-off and wealthy households increases. By August 2025, Tri Ton Hamlet will have no more poor households.”
The determination to eliminate poverty is not only a testament to the efforts of each individual citizen but also reflects the spirit of solidarity and collective effort of the entire community. When each household strives to improve their lives, dares to change their way of thinking and doing things, along with practical support from the government and organizations, the result is not only a reduction in the number of poor households to zero, but also a belief and motivation for the hamlets to continue building a prosperous, beautiful, and civilized homeland.
