On the afternoon of December 7th, in Ho Chi Minh City, a book launch and discussion took place for the memoir "Footprints of Life ," the political commentary book "Discussion and Reflection - Perspectives from Practice" by Lieutenant General Luu Phuoc Luong, along with the epic poem "National Spirit" and the poetry collection "Cold Moon" by Colonel and writer Tran The Tuyen.

At the exchange, many writers and journalists commented that Lieutenant General Luu Phuoc Luong's memoir, "The Mark of Life," which recounts his revolutionary growth, combat, and return to ordinary life, intertwined with the country's history, is "rich in literary quality." Interestingly, this work was written by Lieutenant General Luu Phuoc Luong himself. Responding to the question of why he didn't recount his own life story and instead hired a professional writer or journalist, the Lieutenant General explained that all the events in the book were significant events that left a strong mark on his life, and he rewrote them in chronological order. Writer Tram Huong said she was particularly moved to "re-encounter" the characters she knew and had written about in this book, but from perspectives and stories she was reading for the first time.
Colonel and poet Tran The Tuyen admits that at seventy, he "still has many feelings" - feelings for people and for life. That's why his poetry collection is titled "Cold Moon," yet it's so warm with human emotion. He is also always deeply concerned with paying tribute to the heroic martyrs, those " whose bodies fell to become the land of the Fatherland / Their souls ascended to become the national spirit " (Tran The Tuyen's poem).
