This was the advice given by an expert in the online television counseling program "Choosing a field of study for the future: What should candidates do after the high school graduation exam?" broadcast by Thanh Nien Newspaper on the afternoon of July 3rd.
Candidates can officially register for university admissions and early childhood education programs at the college level starting from July 10th.
Will the cut-off scores remain relatively stable?
Regarding the method of determining the cutoff score, Master Cao Quang Tu, Director of Admissions at Saigon International University, said that this score depends not only on the number of candidates registering for each major but also on the quality of candidates each year. Given the fairly clear differentiation of this year's high school graduation exam, it is possible that many candidates will achieve a good score, but it will be difficult to reach a score of 9-10.
Based on that, Master Tư commented: "Candidates can rest assured that the cut-off scores this year will not fluctuate much compared to last year."
Ms. Nguyen Tran Ngoc Phuong, Director of Marketing and Brand Development at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, also believes that the scientific basis for determining the cutoff score for the admission method using high school graduation exam scores is the score distribution and the number of candidates registering for admission to each major at universities after July 30th.
However, Ms. Phuong noted: "Based on the enrollment data from previous years, majors that are popular and heavily invested in by universities have very high cut-off scores. This year, we predict a similar level will be observed."
This expert "listed" the majors predicted to have high admission scores, such as marketing, business administration, multimedia communication, and public relations… In addition, some traditional majors at universities and those currently trending also have very high competition among candidates.

At the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Ms. Phuong also stated that majors with relatively high admission scores include: information technology, automotive engineering technology, tourism -restaurant-hotel management, graphic design, and multimedia communication... Ms. Phuong added: "Candidates should refer to the admission scores of universities in the last 3 years to predict this year's admission scores."

How many slots are left for admission based on high school graduation exam scores?
Based on the situation regarding early admission methods, Master Cao Quang Tu stated that Saigon International University still has approximately 40% of its quotas available for admission using high school graduation exam scores. In addition, the university has begun accepting applications based on 12th-grade transcripts for the second round, from July 3rd to 31st.
Sharing further advice with the candidates, Master Tư advised: "Even though you have completed the high school graduation exam, don't be complacent. At this time, along with resting, students should spend time researching more about schools and majors to prepare for submitting their official application preferences from July 10th onwards on the Ministry of Education and Training's admissions portal."
According to Mr. Tu, the Ministry of Education and Training has opened the admissions portal for candidates to practice registering and adjusting their application preferences. Candidates should practice multiple times during this period to feel more confident when completing the official process.
Regarding the trial registration process, Master's degree holder Nguyen Tran Ngoc Phuong believes this is an opportunity for candidates to check their personal information. If they find any inaccuracies, candidates should promptly provide feedback for correction.

According to Ms. Phuong, candidates who have received conditional acceptance notifications through the early admission methods of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology need to register their official nguyện vọng (preferences) on the Ministry of Education and Training's admission portal from July 10th to 30th.
Ms. Phuong added: "During the early admissions phase, candidates may be eligible for admission to multiple majors at one university based on their academic transcripts, aptitude assessments, etc. However, this year, universities are conducting preliminary screening to prevent a situation where one candidate is admitted to multiple different majors or admitted to one major through multiple different methods."
During the registration phase on the Ministry of Education and Training's portal, Ms. Phuong said: "If candidates want to study a major that has already met the early admission requirements, they only need to put that major as their first choice to be admitted."
