In recent years, the majors of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Information Technology have had very high benchmark scores in universities. The reason, according to experts, is that these are the “key” majors to breakthrough in the 4.0 Industrial Revolution.
The curriculum provides basic and in-depth knowledge such as: Computer architecture, operating systems, programming, AI, network security, multi-platform application development...
The major provides knowledge from basic to advanced in information technology such as: Computer architecture, programming, artificial intelligence, network security and application development. This is a suitable choice for those who love technology and want to study in depth about computer systems.
Graduates of these majors can work in many positions such as: Analyst, designer in the field of information technology; project developer, policy planner for developing information technology applications; programmer developing system software at companies in the field of information technology in Vietnam and abroad.
The demand for human resources and the average salary of professionals in this industry are very high.
"These are the latest technology industries and are updated regularly. The salaries in these industries are extremely attractive, about 50 million/month if you do well, even 60-80 million/month, not to mention many other benefits," said a university representative.

A Southern admissions expert said that with the top medical schools in the country such as Hanoi Medical University and Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, the admission scores will not cool down because they mainly consider admission to group B00. It is expected that this year's admission scores of these schools will be similar to last year. In which, the admission scores for Medicine and Dentistry will still be very high.
“The medical field is the dream of excellent students. Some candidates dream of studying medicine, so they have been studying hard since grade 10. One of the reasons why candidates dream of studying this field, besides the high income, is the ideal of saving people,” he said.
Mr. Cu Xuan Tien, Head of Admissions and Student Affairs Department of the University of Economics and Law, said that the number of candidates scoring 7 points or higher in each subject in the B00 group (Math - Chemistry - Biology) has decreased sharply compared to 2024. This has narrowed the recruitment source for the group of good students in this group, leading to a sharp decrease in the benchmark scores of related majors.
As for "hot" majors such as Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry - Maxillofacial Surgery at top schools, the benchmark scores may decrease but not to the point of a recruitment crisis. According to Mr. Tien, this year Biology and Chemistry are elective subjects, so candidates who register are usually of good ability and determined to be considered for admission. However, the number of candidates choosing these two subjects will also decrease compared to last year.
Currently, most schools apply many admission methods such as direct admission, priority, assessment of capacity, thinking or academic records combined with conditions, so the recruitment source will be supplemented from these channels.

Mr. Phung Quan, admissions expert at Ho Chi Minh City University of Science, said that the education sector will continue to be the focus of the 2025 university admissions season. Based on the data of the high school exam scores and new policy factors, this year's benchmark scores are expected to increase slightly, while there will be clear differentiation by industry and by school.
According to Mr. Quan, the percentile data shows that the score distribution of admission combinations for pedagogical majors such as A00, A01, D01... will change in 2025. The complete elimination of early admission means that candidates can only register their wishes once after knowing their exam scores, thereby increasing the density of wishes for top majors and schools, making the benchmark scores more unpredictable.
The predicted change in benchmark scores is around 0.25 to 0.75 points, depending on the major and enrollment target. With a total score of 25 or more, candidates can confidently apply for pedagogical majors at major universities. Candidates with a score of 21-24 should prioritize local pedagogical colleges, less competitive majors, or apply for admission using a combination of high score advantages. However, candidates need to rank their wishes strategically, reasonably allocating between dream majors and safe choices.
Mr. Quan acknowledged that in 2025, the benchmark scores for the education sector are likely to continue to increase slightly, but not evenly. The differentiation will be clear between social and natural sciences, central and local schools. Therefore, candidates need to closely monitor the score distribution data, take advantage of their strengths and register their preferences intelligently to increase their chances of admission.
