Protecting the development of children is one of the basic principles of international law on children's rights. Children are not only the present's large population but also the human resources of the future. Therefore, issues related to children's right to development are one of the main concerns of international law as well as Vietnamese law.
Children's rights are human rights applied specifically to children, at each different age, children enjoy different rights and shoulder different obligations. The consideration of regulations and implementation of children's rights must come from the perspective of children, so children's rights are the privileges that children enjoy according to the provisions of the law with children being the buds, the future of the country today, the work of protecting and caring for children has achieved many positive results in which children are guaranteed rights such as the right to life, the right to protection of life, ensuring the best living conditions and development. Children have the right to follow or not to follow any religion and must be guaranteed safety, in the best interests of the child, and have the right to own, inherit and have other rights to property as prescribed by law. Children have the inviolable right to privacy, personal secrets and family secrets for the benefit of the child, and have their honor, dignity, reputation, confidentiality of correspondence, telephone, telegram and other forms of information exchange protected by law. Accordingly, the work of protecting, caring for and educating children for their comprehensive development can be considered one of the key
political tasks of Party committees and authorities from the central to local levels. Ensuring children's rights, especially the group of rights to development, is a top priority in all policies and strategies for the country's socio-economic development during the renovation period.
