High income Australian labor market

There are many different occupations for workers to choose from when exporting labor to Australia. There is no shortage of jobs in this country, from unskilled labor ( agriculture , industry) to higher-skilled occupations such as (engineering, accounting, software technology, computers, etc.).

However, it is very difficult to enter the Australian market, because in reality there has not been any signed or labor cooperation agreement between the Vietnamese and Australian governments , but mainly Vietnamese companies exploit and seek labor contracts to enter the Australian market.

Through research, it is shown that in recent years, many Nghe An workers have gone to the Australian market to work. Along with that, the Japanese Yen has fallen in value, Nghe An workers tend to turn to the Australian market to work to earn higher income. Nghe An workers go to Australia to work mainly to study abroad, learn a trade or both travel and work, and harvest agricultural products.

A student from Thinh Son commune, Do Luong district who went to study at a university in SYDNEY state (Australia) shared: As a second-year student, the process of going to Australia had to meet very strict procedures, such as submitting documents and being accepted by an Australian university, SYDNEY state. The procedures included IELTS certificate 5.5, proof of family finances and a satisfactory interview to be granted a VISA. After entering school, I took advantage of the opportunity to work part-time as a waiter and cleaner at restaurants and hotels, earning 30 million VND/month, with this income I also had additional living expenses and sent home to my family.

Mr. Tran Van T in Cua Lo town - a worker specializing in caring for and harvesting fruit at a farm in Australia added: Even when I first came to Australia, I could earn several tens of millions of VND per month. When I have high skills, my income can reach 70-80 million VND/month.

Due to lack of experience, new workers may be assigned lighter jobs than those with seniority. Salaries, accordingly, depend on the workload of each person. Cherry and tomato harvesters can earn 2 million VND per day.

Australia still has high-paying and labor-short industries, typically the construction industry. Mr. Tran Van M, from Vinh city, is working as a bricklayer in Melbourne, Australia. He shared: The demand for bricklayers in Australia is very easy to find a job, skilled workers have a fairly high income of over 100 million VND/month. If you know more about painting walls, installing water pipes, you can increase your income. In addition, project managers and construction site supervisors are also lacking in labor.

However, the cost of living in Australia is quite expensive, a worker has to spend over 20 million VND/month on living expenses, including food, accommodation, transportation, electricity, water, gas, telephone, etc.

Rigorous recruitment

Recruitment conditions to Australia are stricter than other countries, according to the Australian Department of Immigration, foreign workers working in Australia must meet all of the following conditions: Aged between 18 and 50, have completed high school (high school or higher). Depending on the order, there may or may not be work experience required (training will be provided later). Minimum English proficiency IELTS4.5 or PTE 31 points or higher, technical specialists and engineers must have IELTS1 certificate and low-skilled workers must have IELTS2 certificate (officially recognized internationally).

In particular, each specific field will be assessed and approved by different professional agencies in Australia. Therefore, if deciding to export labor to Australia, workers need to carefully prepare from qualifications, work experience, and constantly improve their expertise to increase the recruitment rate.

Currently, there are many recruiting occupations for Australian labor export, with a 2-year visa term, 1 extension, and a permanent visa after 4 years of work. Enjoy many incentives when children are born here. Foreign language proficiency will improve significantly over time, life and work. According to some workers in Australia, the recruitment conditions to Australia are stricter than in other countries. The cost to go to Australia to work will be between 180 and 550 million VND. This amount will vary depending on the type of visa the worker uses.

And the cost of exporting labor to Australia includes main items such as: Consulting fee, detailed assessment package, full representative fee - may vary, depending on the applicant, visa type... Disbursement (health check/IELTS test/Australian agency fee/government fee/certification and translation of assessment documents) - may vary depending on each case.

Through research, it is shown that despite strict recruitment, Nghe An workers have been able to go to the Australian market in many different ways in the past. They mainly go to Australia to work as students, apprentices or tourists, hoping to have a better life here. Sometimes, a person who makes it brings their relatives.

Ms. Pham Thi Bich Thuy - Head of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Do Luong district said: Do Luong district mainly goes to the Japanese and Taiwanese markets. For the Australian market, the district has not had any related departments to introduce orders to Australia through official channels. Workers in Do Luong who have recently gone to Australia to work mainly find their way through personal channels, study abroad programs, etc. Workers need to be vigilant against fraudulent networks.

Ms. Dang Thi Phuong Thuy - Deputy Head of the Department of Labor, Employment and Labor Safety, Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs said: Currently, Nghe An province has not signed a labor contract between the two sides to recruit workers to Australia. Most of the workers go under individual contracts, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs recommends that people be vigilant to avoid being scammed by subjects exporting labor to Australia.

The Australian Government has just announced the approval of the agricultural visa (visa 403), allowing Vietnamese workers to come to Australia to work in the agricultural sector. Visa 403 is the latest passport issued by the Australian Government to attract workers to the agricultural sector. Holders of this visa have the opportunity to stay in Australia to work for up to 4 years.

This is a good opportunity for Vietnamese workers in general, and Nghe An workers in particular, to open the door to work in Australia. Visa 403 will recruit workers to work in the agriculture, forestry and fishery sectors such as: planting, raising, harvesting, processing, other support services...

According to the report of the Australian Department of Agriculture, each year, Australia lacks about 30,000 workers in the agricultural sector alone; the livestock, meat processing, dairy, agricultural packaging industries, etc. are also seriously lacking in workers. Therefore, this 403 visa will be an opportunity for Australian farms and local businesses to have more workers, solving the human resource problem that is threatening the development of the Australian agricultural sector.

Currently, there are also many brokerage units and individuals operating strongly to attract workers to register, receive documents, pay deposits... to work in Australia, while many things are unclear, so those who want to go need to consider carefully before deciding.
