The beliefs and expectations of the youth of Gia Lai.

(GLO) - Towards the First Congress of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030, with a sense of responsibility, dedication, and deep belief in the development of their homeland in the new period, youth union members in the province actively participated in contributing opinions to the draft political report.

Responsibility, democracy

The Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee meticulously and comprehensively implemented the process of soliciting feedback from Youth Union members on the draft political report. Youth Union branches at all levels organized numerous conferences, seminars, and thematic activities in a vibrant atmosphere, demonstrating the democratic spirit and responsibility of young people.

Through this process, youth union members not only contribute ideas on issues directly related to themselves but also propose practical solutions linked to the overall development of the province.

Many opinions suggested that the draft report needs more detailed and clear data, especially in the areas of digital transformation in education, healthcare, agriculture , and administrative procedure reform, as these are areas closely related to people's lives.

In addition, a comparison between the goals and results of the Resolution from the previous term is needed, along with a clear identification of the reasons for any unmet targets to facilitate evaluation and learning from experience. In particular, many youth union members suggested concretizing vocational training solutions linked to actual needs, prioritizing sectors such as tourism and high-tech agriculture.

Mr. Nguyen Chi Hieu - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union - affirmed: The feedback conferences are an important forum for young people to express their thoughts and aspirations, and demonstrate their responsibility towards the province's important political event. The Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union has directed affiliated Youth Union and Association organizations to proactively organize seminars and thematic activities on the theme "Gia Lai Youth and the Party Congress," thereby gathering broad and diverse opinions.

Heartfelt contributions

In the context of integration, young people have many opportunities to learn, but they are also strongly influenced by complex trends and ideologies in cyberspace.

Alarmingly, hostile forces are exploiting the internet to influence the beliefs and ideals of young people. Therefore, political and ideological education for youth union members needs to focus on strengthening political resolve, nurturing revolutionary ideals, and arousing patriotism and the desire for innovation.

Mr. Nguyen Cong Chanh, M.Sc. - Lecturer in the Department of Party Building (Provincial Political School), member of the Provincial Young Theorists Club - stated his opinion: In section 1.1.1 (part VI on main tasks and solutions) of the draft political report, content should be added regarding strengthening dialogue and creating forums for young people to express their opinions and aspirations, in order to provide timely guidance.

On the other hand, it is necessary to develop political and ideological learning platforms that meet the demands of the digital age; focus on educating digital citizenship awareness and social media etiquette; and cultivate revolutionary traditions, national history, and local culture among the younger generation. Many grassroots youth union officials suggested paying attention to employment and entrepreneurship issues.

Ms. Phan Thi Yen, Secretary of the Youth Union of Tuy Phuoc Bac commune, shared: Currently, the commune has 1,200 Youth Union members, of which about 30% need vocational training to find jobs and start businesses. The commune has the potential to develop community tourism associated with historical relics, traditional craft villages, and ecological landscapes; at the same time, agriculture is also shifting towards the application of high technology.

However, local youth lack knowledge, vocational skills, and have not kept pace with labor market trends. I propose that in section 3.4 (part VI on key tasks and solutions) of the draft political report, the content on employment and sustainable poverty reduction should further specify vocational training solutions, closely linked to market needs, especially in the fields of tourism and high-tech agriculture.

Sharing the same view, Ms. Bui Thanh Hoa - Secretary of the Youth Union of Dak Po commune - believes that young people have many creative and groundbreaking ideas, but when they start implementing them, they encounter obstacles in terms of capital, management skills, and support mechanisms. Therefore, the draft political report needs to add solutions to build more practical policies to support startups, tailored to the specific characteristics of each region.

She also suggested expanding policy dialogue channels so that youth union members, especially those in remote areas and ethnic minority regions, have the opportunity to express their aspirations and be supported in the development process.
