Quang Tien commune was recognized as meeting the standards of a new rural area by the Hanoi People's Committee in 2017. Since then, the construction of new rural areas has been identified by the local Party committee and government as a key task to be continuously implemented.
In early 2023, after being recognized as achieving advanced new rural standards, Quang Tien commune continued to implement many solutions to maintain and improve the achieved criteria, while striving to become a model new rural commune in 2024.
According to Nguyen Van Thi, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tien commune, the local government has clearly identified the construction of a model new rural area as a key task for the entire political system; it has set forth a motto of relying primarily on internal resources, taking advantage of social resources, and arousing and promoting the positive spirit and self-reliance of the people.
The Quang Tien Commune Party Committee has issued a thematic resolution on building a model new rural commune; reorganized the Steering Committee, and developed an action plan for implementation. Simultaneously, Party committee members have been assigned to each village to provide guidance.
“The Standing Committee of the Commune Party Committee went down to each village to attend meetings to understand what had been done, what had not been done, and to propose solutions to promptly overcome difficulties in the implementation process; the village Party branches organized meetings with the people to propagate and mobilize the people to maintain, uphold, and continue to improve the quality of the criteria,” Mr. Nguyen Van Thi further shared.
Reap the rewards.
Thanks to closely following the directives of the Soc Son District Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee, along with the flexibility, proactiveness, and creativity in the leadership and management of the Party committee and government; and the spirit of unity and solidarity of the people, Quang Tien commune has successfully completed the targets and tasks set for building a model new rural area.
To date, 100% of main roads and inter-village roads have been paved with concrete or asphalt and have street lighting; all 6 villages have cultural centers or community cultural activity spaces and have achieved the title of cultural village. The rate of people participating in health insurance has reached 97.4%; the average per capita income has reached 76.03 million VND/person/year. Currently, the commune no longer has any poor households.
Regarding the criteria for building a model new rural area, Quang Tien commune proposed recognition in three areas: health, culture, and production. The Hanoi City New Rural Area Assessment Team conducted a field survey and evaluated the results of Quang Tien commune's implementation. The team highly appreciated the assessment and submitted the proposal to the Hanoi City Council for evaluation and recognition of Quang Tien commune as a model new rural area.
On October 30th, the Party Committee, government, and people of Quang Tien commune solemnly held a ceremony to receive the Certificate recognizing the commune as a model new rural area, awarded by the Hanoi People's Committee. This is a well-deserved achievement for the tireless efforts of the local Party Committee, government, and people.
Speaking at the ceremony to receive the certificate recognizing Quang Tien commune as a model new rural commune, Vice Chairman of Soc Son District People's Committee Do Minh Tuan requested the locality to continue maintaining and improving the quality of the criteria for a model new rural commune in a fundamental, synchronized, and comprehensive manner; focusing on infrastructure solutions to meet the standards of an administrative unit as prescribed.
Furthermore, local authorities continue to focus on shifting the economic structure towards services and trade; concentrating on developing organic and high-tech agriculture, applying scientific and technological advancements in production and management; and building brands for agricultural products. At the same time, they are preserving and promoting the value of historical and cultural relics in conjunction with tourism development and environmental protection.
At the ceremony on October 30th to receive the Certificate recognizing Quang Tien commune as an advanced new rural area and a model new rural area, the kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools in Quang Tien commune were also honored to be recognized as meeting national standards. In addition, one collective and three individuals were awarded Certificates of Commendation by the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee.
