Việt Nam•28/08/2024
Ninh Binh boasts an incredibly rich ecosystem, with mangrove forests, towering limestone cliffs, and winding rivers creating a stunning natural landscape that attracts many rare bird species to take refuge here.
Ninh Binh Newspaper proudly presents images of some bird species recorded in their natural habitat in Ninh Binh by Mr. Bui Duc Tien, a researcher on birds and a professional wildlife photographer. Mr. Tien spent 10 years working at Cuc Phuong National Park, possesses a deep understanding of nature, and has tracked and photographed thousands of Vietnamese bird species. Many of his photos were also contributed to the photo book "Birds of Vietnam," edited by Dr. Le Manh Hung and published in 2020, which introduces 731 bird species belonging to 22 orders and 93 families recorded in Vietnam through 1,205 photographs.
1. The Striped-bellied Short-tailed Bird has a very interesting appearance with its tail stubby as if someone had plucked it off. Its habitat includes evergreen broadleaf forests, semi-evergreen forests, mixed deciduous forests, and bamboo forests (Photo taken at Cuc Phuong National Park). 2. The Stilt Bird, with its long black beak, white head and belly, black wings, and strikingly long, reddish-pink legs (Photo taken at Truong Yen, Hoa Lu). 3. The Red Sunbird is a species of bird belonging to the Sunbird family. It is quite small, measuring only about 11 cm in body length. Its beak is yellow during the breeding season and black at other times (Photo taken at Van Long Wetland, Gia Vien District). 10. The collared owl is a fairly common resident species throughout the country, renowned for its keen senses, sharp talons, and ability to fly silently. 11.
