Last June, Le Chan High School (Dong Trieu Ward) completed the work of inspecting, evaluating and assessing the qualityof education and building a school that meets national standards according to the plan of the Department of Education and Training. According to records, the school currently has 22 main classrooms, ensuring service for 22 classes; at the same time, it has invested in 8 modern functional rooms, serving the following subjects: Information Technology, Physics - Technology, Chemistry, Biology...
The school's teaching staff currently has 50 civil servants and 5 labor contracts. 100% of the staff and teachers meet the required standards, of which 18 have qualifications above the standard. With a foundation of synchronous facilities and a quality teaching staff, Le Chan High School is awaiting the results of re-recognition of the title of a national standard school, affirming its position as one of the typical public educational institutions in the locality.
Ms. Ngo Thi Liem, Principal of Le Chan High School, shared: We have been working hard for many years to continuously improve the quality of education. Being recognized as a national standard school is not only the result of the collective effort, but also the motivation for us to continue to innovate and develop.
According to the report of the Department of Education and Training, in the 2024-2025 school year, the whole province has 616 educational institutions from preschool to high school. The rate of educational institutions meeting national standards by the end of May 2025 reached 91.88%, of which level 1 accounted for 66.56% and level 2 accounted for 25.32%.
The work of building national standard schools has always received special attention from the province as well as localities. In the period 2021-2024, the province invested 3,070 billion VND from the local budget for 437 national standard schools. From June 2024 to May 2025, it continued to invest more than 1,726 billion VND for 13 schools.
In general, the construction of standard schools has been implemented synchronously. Many localities have included the target of building national standard schools in the resolutions of Party congresses and People's Councils at all levels, identifying this as a strategic task. Schools have also proactively developed plans, conducted self-assessments, and improved the quality of education every year.
However, in addition to positive results, the work of building national standard schools in Quang Ninh still faces many difficulties. Some small-scale educational institutions, established before 2020, have not met the criteria according to Circular No. 13/2020/TT-BGDDT of the Ministry of Education and Training .
The lack of land, degraded infrastructure, and limited investment, especially in remote areas, remain major barriers. In addition, the staff and teachers are busy with teaching and do not have enough time to self-evaluate and improve quality.
Faced with difficulties and obstacles in the process of implementing the construction of national standard schools, the Quang Ninh education sector has proactively proposed many specific solutions to improve implementation efficiency.
In particular, continue to do a good job of advising the Provincial People's Committee to issue a plan to assess the quality of education, build schools that meet national standards to gain the attention and investment of local authorities in human resources and finance to meet the regulations on staff, facilities, equipment, land area, etc.
In particular, strengthen guidance, direction, supervision and inspection of units and educational institutions under management in implementing educational quality assessment and building schools that meet national standards.
The sector also focuses on organizing professional training for units and individuals involved in building schools that meet national standards. In particular, it strengthens the direction and inspection of self-assessment work for educational institutions under its management.
Along with that, promote the application of information technology, digital transformation in self-assessment and external assessment; pay attention to implementing communication work to spread and replicate typical examples of localities and educational institutions that have done well in building schools that meet national standards.
The province's work of building national standard schools is recording steady progress, clearly demonstrating the province's determination in the strategy of sustainable education development.
