Explosion at Bac Chu Lai magnet factory, 12 workers hospitalized, one seriously burned

Accordingly, the incident occurred at around 9:30 a.m. the same day (May 21), at the coating machine area in the factory. Immediately after the incident, Tam Hiep Commune Police quickly arrived, deployed rescue forces and recorded the scene.

The Management Board of Economic Zones and Industrial Parks of Quang Nam province also sent leaders to the factory to coordinate the inspection, and visited the victims at Quang Nam Central General Hospital.

The explosion injured 12 workers.

Information from the hospital said that among the 12 workers hospitalized, there was 1 patient with severe burns covering 60-70% of the body and is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The other 3 patients suffered minor burns (less than 10%) with injuries and are being treated in the Department of Trauma Surgery. The remaining 8 workers suffered multiple soft tissue injuries and fainted due to heat and were treated in the Emergency Department and then discharged.

The cause of the explosion is currently being investigated and clarified by authorities.

It is known that SGI VINA factory is a unit specializing in the production of magnetic magnets, operating in the largest industrial park in Quang Nam province.
