According to Xinhua News Agency, the Gaza peace summit co-chaired by US President Donald Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, attended by leaders from more than 20 countries as well as regional and international organizations, took place in the Egyptian resort of Sharm El-Sheikh on October 13. However, representatives of Israel and Hamas did not attend the conference.

According to the Egyptian presidency, the summit focused on supporting the Sharm el-Sheikh agreement, reached between Israel and Hamas to end the conflict in Gaza on October 9, with Egypt, the United States, Qatar and Türkiye acting as mediators.
"I welcome you all to the Sharm el-Sheikh Peace Summit, at this important and pivotal historical moment, where we together witnessed the signing of the Sharm el-Sheikh Agreement to end the conflict in Gaza," President Sisi said.
He said the move was "a ray of hope that this agreement will close a painful chapter in human history and open the door to a new era of peace and stability in the Middle East, giving the people of the region exhausted by conflict a brighter tomorrow".
At the summit, President Trump, Egyptian President al-Sisi, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani signed a joint statement supporting the ceasefire and peace agreement in Gaza.
The joint statement also mentioned the importance of cooperation among the international community to provide all necessary measures to ensure the implementation of the provisions of the agreement and maintain its continuity, including a comprehensive ceasefire in Gaza, completion of the hostage and prisoner exchange process, the withdrawal of Israeli forces and the delivery of humanitarian and relief aid into the Gaza Strip.
President al-Sisi reaffirmed his support for the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire plan, stressing that the agreement must be "consolidated and implemented in all phases, towards the realization of the two-state solution".
