With the theme "Lam Dong - Convergence of Excellence - Connection of Emotions," on the opening night of the Street Culture Month, held on September 6th at the Provincial Theater and Exhibition Center (Phan Thiet ward), 80 food stalls and regional specialties attracted hundreds of local people and tourists to visit and experience them.
With numerous stalls showcasing specialties and souvenirs from all three regions of Vietnam, as well as cuisine from neighboring countries like Laos and Thailand, the festival has become even more diverse and rich. Visitors can enjoy many delicious dishes such as: pan-fried rice pancakes, Ha Long hand-pounded squid, My Tho noodle soup, and various traditional cakes from the Mekong Delta...
In addition, the blend of Laotian cuisine, such as sticky rice, sausages, dried pork, Thai salad, and dishes made from insects, has created a colorful tapestry, a unique fusion of cultures and arts.
In addition, within the food festival space, visitors can also admire the recreated traditional culture with farming, calligraphy by traditional calligraphers, stalls making clay figurines, Bat Trang pottery, Indian Henna art, etc. Mr. Nguyen Anh Trung - a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City shared: “My family traveled during a time when Lam Dong province had many attractive activities. This food festival had many diverse food stalls, my children got to try many delicious dishes and also enjoyed lively street music , experienced pottery making, making the trip more interesting and meaningful.”
This is not only a large-scale cultural and tourism event series for Lam Dong province, but also an opportunity for the province to affirm its dynamic and creative new destination, create unique tourism products, and enhance the image and reputation of Lam Dong to domestic and international tourists.
Speaking at the opening night of the Lam Dong Province Tourism Destination Experience Month 2025, Mr. Dinh Van Tuan - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: The merger of the three provinces of Lam Dong, Binh Thuan, and Dak Nong has opened up a vast development space with rich potential and promising prospects.
Lam Dong has become a land that brings together unique cultural, natural, and human values, creating a rich tourism ecosystem. This initiative will bring a series of diverse cultural, tourism, commercial, and sporting events throughout the province. This is an opportunity to spread the message of a friendly, hospitable land, rich in cultural identity and full of emotion...
However, according to many locals, the food stalls lack many specialties of Phan Thiet and the Central Highlands region such as: banh canh (rice noodle soup), banh quai vac (fried dough sticks), mi quang (Quang Nam noodles), avocado ice cream, cheese yogurt… Most of the stalls sell fast food and do not truly highlight the distinctive culinary culture of the newly established province.
Reportedly, to date, approximately 50 businesses, travel agencies, service providers, guesthouses, etc., have registered for promotional programs offering discounts ranging from 5% to 50% to stimulate demand and attract tourists to Lam Dong, allowing them to experience a region that embodies nature, culture, and people.
According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province, the Lam Dong Delicacies Space will be held from September 6th to October 5th (over the weekend) in the following wards: Mui Ne (Nguyen Dinh Chieu street, from Ca Ty Mui Ne Resort & Spa to Saigon Mui Ne Resort & Spa), Phan Thiet (the area outside the Provincial Theater and Cultural and Artistic Exhibition building), Tien Thanh (NovaWorld Phan Thiet area) and Hoa Thang commune (Bau Trang tourist area).
