Change your mindset to become wealthy.

Currently, the greenhouse for grape cultivation belonging to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Khich's family in Sao village, Tan Linh commune, is frequently visited by people coming to observe and learn about the model. Few would have imagined that on land previously used primarily for growing corn and cassava, such a modern, high-tech agricultural model could be developed.

Korean grapes are grown using modern cultivation techniques in Tan Linh commune.

Boldly introducing Korean grape varieties for cultivation, Mr. Khich invested nearly 700 million VND to build a greenhouse system with a sturdy steel frame, covered with insect-proof nylon, and installed a complete automatic irrigation system. The entire care process is strictly controlled to ensure the appropriate humidity, temperature, and nutrients for plant growth.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Khich shared: “Initially, family members were worried because the investment costs were quite high, while this grape variety was still new in the area. But I thought that to do agriculture effectively, we must change our mindset and boldly apply technology to reduce risks. Since building the greenhouse, the plants have grown more stably, pests and diseases have been reduced, water has been saved, and the amount of care has been significantly reduced.”

After a period of cultivation, the model has shown promising results. The plump grape clusters are not only purchased directly from the vineyard by traders but also attract many tourists who come to experience and take photos. Based on this success, Mr. Khich plans to expand the area and combine it with the development of agricultural tourism to enhance the value of the product.

Currently, in many localities within the province, more and more high-tech agricultural models are emerging. From primarily relying on experience, farmers are gradually adopting a modern, market-oriented production mindset.

This transformation doesn't just come from machinery or technology, but more importantly, from a change in the production mindset of the people.

While agricultural production used to be small-scale and fragmented, with each household working independently, many households have now proactively formed cooperatives and associations to jointly produce, build brands, and find stable markets for their products.

The people of Hung Khanh commune are linking agricultural production and consumption along the value chain.

In Hung Khanh commune, many production linkage models are proving to be very effective. From bamboo shoots, cinnamon trees, tea, medicinal herbs to livestock farming, people are no longer producing individually but are gradually forming a linked chain from production to consumption.

Mr. Ha Quy Giap, Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Hung Khanh commune, said: "The most important thing now is to change the mindset of the people. When people understand that sustainable development requires production linkages, ensuring product quality, and meeting market demands, they will proactively innovate their methods."

In reality, the collective economy is increasingly asserting its important role in the development of local agriculture.

The province currently has 845 cooperatives and over 1,100 cooperative groups operating in the agricultural sector with more than 6,000 members, playing a leading role in the province's collective economic sector. The average revenue of a cooperative currently reaches approximately 1.2 billion VND per year, generating a profit of about 300 million VND per year.

Agricultural cooperatives have gradually reformed their content and methods of operation; actively applying scientific and technological advancements to production, and transforming the structure of crops and livestock towards commercial production. At the same time, they have proactively participated in the OCOP program and trade promotion activities to enhance product value. Many cooperatives have effectively played a role in linking farmers with businesses, organizing production and consumption along the value chain, and improving the competitiveness of local agricultural products.

Digital transformation is opening up more opportunities for farmers to sell their products.

In particular, the development of e-commerce is also opening up new opportunities for farmers in mountainous areas. Many distinctive products such as tea, cinnamon, honey, vermicelli, and clean vegetables have been promoted on e-commerce platforms and social networks, gradually expanding their markets beyond the province.

Many farmers have learned to livestream sales, promote their products on digital platforms, or connect with customers via smartphones. From people who were only familiar with working in the fields, they are gradually becoming "digital farmers."

The appearance of the countryside is improving day by day.

Along with changes in production, the appearance of rural areas in many localities is also changing noticeably day by day.

Clean, well-maintained concrete roads extending to every village; synchronized investment in electricity, water, and internet; increasingly modern schools and cultural centers… are creating a new face for rural areas.

The transformation of rural areas begins with changes in the way people think and act.

In Yen Binh commune, many community-based tourism models linked to agricultural experiences are developing, attracting a large number of tourists. Local people are not only engaged in agriculture but also know how to exploit the value of the landscape and local culture to develop services.

"The local authorities have determined that agricultural development must be linked to tourism and the preservation of cultural identity. When tourists come to experience the area, the people will not only gain additional income but also enhance their awareness of preserving the environment and rural landscape."

Mr. Nguyen Duy Khiem - Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Binh Commune.

As a result, many households have gained additional income from homestays, selling agricultural products, providing food services, and offering cultural experiences. These once quiet rural areas have become more vibrant with tourists seeking to experience rural life.

Developing community-based tourism contributes to increasing people's income.

Not only has the material living standard improved, but the spiritual life of the people has also undergone many changes. People actively participate in building new rural areas, maintaining environmental hygiene, and creating green, clean, and beautiful landscapes. Many flower-lined roads and model residential areas have been formed, contributing to the appearance of a civilized and modern rural area.

It is evident that the flow of innovation is deeply penetrating every rural area, changing the mindset and practices of farmers: from traditional production to commodity production; from a self-sufficient mindset to a market economy mindset; from manual labor to the application of high technology… all of which are creating new vitality for rural areas today.

This transformation has not only brought a more prosperous life to the people but also opened up a sustainable development direction for agriculture and rural areas in the future.

Livable rural areas are emerging as a result of changes in the mindset and practices of the people.

On this journey, farmers are no longer "followers" but are gradually becoming the agents of innovation, proactively integrating themselves into the rhythm of the times. And from these changes in the countryside today, a dynamic, modern, and vibrant rural landscape is gradually emerging.
