Meritorious Artist Minh Hoang passed away

Recently, artist Minh Hoang's health has been very poor. He could not eat, had difficulty sleeping, and was emaciated. On the morning of October 20, because his health suddenly worsened, artist Minh Hoang was taken to the emergency room by his family, but he fell into a deep coma and by the evening of the same day, at 7:20 p.m., he breathed his last, at the age of 54.

Meritorious Artist Minh Hoang's real name is Nguyen Minh Hoang, born in 1971, hometown is Thanh An commune, Ben Cau district, Tay Ninh province (now Ben Cau commune, Tay Ninh province). His father is artist Duy Phuoc.

In 1988, he attended art school at Tran Huu Trang Opera House and studied with master artists of opera such as Phung Ha, Hoang Ba, Ut Trong, Tan Dat, Ba Tu, Kim Cuc...

After the course, artist Minh Hoang joined the theater's shock troupe to perform for audiences everywhere.

After more than 30 years in the profession, artist Minh Hoang is remembered by the public through many cai luong plays such as: Dragon and Phoenix, One Minute One Time, The Song of the Hau River, White Heart, Going to the Sea Alone ... Besides the role of a romantic actor, he also created a very unique attraction with humorous and witty comedy roles in cai luong plays: Going to the Sea Alone, After Tet I'll Marry You, Wife is Everything...

He contributed his efforts with the collective of artists of Tran Huu Trang Opera House to perform and was honored with Gold Medals for the plays: In the Name of Justice, Motherland Love Song, Dragon and Phoenix, Warrior... at national opera festivals.

Artist Minh Hoang personally received a Silver Medal for the role of Nam Toi - Tan in the play The Eye of Time at the National Professional Cai Luong Theatre Arts Competition in 2009; and the role of Trung in the play The Day They Were All Young at the National Cai Luong Theatre Festival in 2018.

The male artist has a gentle, warm, sincere, and emotional voice. He can play a variety of roles. In each role, whether big or small, he is very respectful, dedicated, and creative in order for the role to achieve depth, vibration, and touch the audience's emotions.

With colleagues, he is emotional and friendly, always paying attention, guiding and encouraging the young generation of artists who are continuing the profession, sticking with the profession, improving their expertise, improving their techniques, developing their talents, promoting their voices, and working together to complete good performances to better serve the audience.

In 2024, artist Minh Hoang was honored to be awarded the title of Meritorious Artist.

Meritorious Artist Minh Hoang is currently the Deputy Head of Group 1 of Tran Huu Trang Opera House. During his decades of singing, he has actively contributed his talents to the art of opera, receiving a Certificate of Merit from the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee in 2012, a Certificate of Merit from the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for his important contributions to the development of literature and art in Ho Chi Minh City 50 years after the country's reunification, and a Commemorative Medal "For the cause of culture, sports and tourism" from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2020...

His passing has left behind much grief for his relatives, friends, colleagues and audiences who loved him through his roles and stage plays.
