Meritorious Artist Minh Hoàng has passed away.

Recently, artist Minh Hoang's health had deteriorated significantly. He had difficulty eating, sleeping, and had become emaciated. On the morning of October 20th, due to a sudden worsening of his condition, artist Minh Hoang was rushed to the hospital by his family, but he fell into a deep coma and passed away that evening at 7:20 PM, at the age of 54.

Meritorious Artist Minh Hoàng, whose real name is Nguyễn Minh Hoàng, was born in 1971 in Thạnh An commune, Bến Cầu district, Tây Ninh province (now Bến Cầu commune, Tây Ninh province). His father was artist Duy Phước.

In 1988, he studied art at the Tran Huu Trang Cai Luong Theatre and had the opportunity to learn from master Cai Luong artists such as Phung Ha, Hoang Ba, Ut Trong, Tan Dat, Ba Tu, Kim Cuc, and others.

After the course, artist Minh Hoang joined the theater's performing troupe, traveling to perform for audiences everywhere.

With over 30 years in the profession, artist Minh Hoang is remembered by the public through many Cai Luong plays such as: Dragon and Phoenix, One Minute, The Song of the Hau River, Pure Heart, Going to Sea Alone ... Besides his leading roles, he also created a unique appeal with his humorous and witty comedic roles in Cai Luong plays such as: Going to Sea Alone, I'll Marry You in January, Wife Is Everything…

He contributed his efforts alongside the artists of the Tran Huu Trang Cai Luong Theatre to performances and was honored with Gold Medals for plays such as: "In the Name of Justice," "Homeland Love Song," "Dragon and Phoenix," "Warrior," etc., at national Cai Luong theatre festivals.

Artist Minh Hoang personally received a Silver Medal for his role as Nam Toi - Tan in the play "The Eye of Time" at the 2009 National Professional Cai Luong Theatre Arts Competition; and for his role as Trung in the play "They Were All Young That Day" at the 2018 National Cai Luong Theatre Festival.

The male artist has a gentle, warm, sincere, and emotional singing voice. He can play a wide variety of roles. In each role, whether big or small, he cherishes it, puts his heart and soul into it, and strives for creativity to ensure the performance achieves depth, emotional resonance, and touches the audience's feelings.

With his colleagues, he was affectionate and sociable, always showing great care, guidance, and encouragement to the younger generation of artists who were continuing the profession, fostering dedication to the craft, honing their skills, improving their techniques, developing their talents, enhancing their vocal abilities, and working together to successfully complete performances to better serve the audience.

In 2024, artist Minh Hoang was honored with the title of Meritorious Artist.

Meritorious Artist Minh Hoang is currently the Deputy Head of Group 1 of the Tran Huu Trang Cai Luong Theatre. Throughout his decades in the performing arts, he has actively contributed his talents and skills to Cai Luong theatre, receiving a Certificate of Merit from the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee in 2012, another Certificate of Merit from the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for his significant contributions to the development of literature and art in Ho Chi Minh City 50 years after national reunification, and the "For the Cause of Culture, Sports and Tourism" commemorative medal from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2020...

His passing has left many grieving, including family, friends, colleagues, and audiences who loved him through his roles and stage performances.
