With a total score of 29.5 points, candidate Ho Thi Thanh Tuyen, in Duy Hai commune, Duy Xuyen district ( Quang Nam ), studying in grade 12/6, Ho Nghinh High School (Duy Xuyen district) burst into tears when she learned that she had become the valedictorian of block C00 (literature 9.75; history 9.75; geography 10) of Quang Nam province and the runner-up nationwide.
“Although many people think that studying block C means studying hard, in my opinion, understanding is more important than memorizing. For each lesson, I study to grasp the nature and meaning of the problem, thereby forming solid knowledge,” Tuyen said.

According to the female student, after school, Tuyen spends about 4 hours studying by herself at night. For each subject, she must first systematize the basic knowledge. For any difficult lessons, she directly meets the teacher to ask for detailed information.
During all three years of high school, Tuyen was an excellent student and scored 7.0 on the IELTS test. During her two years in grades 11 and 12, Tuyen won second and first prizes in history at the provincial level. This is the result of her passion for history. For Tuyen, studying history is not only for exams but also because she loves it.

“Learning about history is a way for me to understand the past, the formation and development of the country and homeland; about the process of fighting to protect the sovereignty , independence and freedom of the nation. I find history very interesting and useful, what is important is how each person perceives it,” Tuyen shared.
Tuyen said she had applied and passed the International Relations major at the Diplomatic Academy. This is a major she loves, combining history and political issues. She hopes to work in an embassy in the future and will try harder to pursue her dream.
Tuyen is the second child in a family of 5 siblings, the eldest sister is studying Information Technology at the University of Technology - University of Da Nang. Her father is a fisherman, her mother is a farmer, the difficult circumstances have further strengthened the will and determination of the little student.

Because her husband often has to go to sea with the ship, Ms. No stays home to take care of the children and manage the housework. In the morning she sells fish at the market, and in the afternoon she buys scrap.
“The children encourage each other to study, the older ones help the younger ones. There are many difficult times, but my husband and I always encourage each other to try to make sure our children study well, so they don’t have to suffer like their parents,” Ms. No confided.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Hung - Principal of Ho Nghinh High School - said that in the 2024 high school graduation exam, the school had 100% of students passing the graduation exam. Many students achieved high results, including 2 students who were valedictorians in groups C00 and D01.
“Tuyền is a diligent student, always trying her best in her studies, polite and proactive in learning from teachers and friends. With these efforts, her future will be increasingly open,” said Mr. Hưng.
