This morning, September 15th, sharing about the special case of the female doctor, a victim in the mini-apartment building fire on Khuong Ha Street, Associate Professor - Dr. Dao Xuan Co, Director of Bach Mai Hospital, emotionally said: "This is a young doctor." VTN, Dr. N. is a doctor from the Department of Pathology and Cytology (Bach Mai Hospital). He is a young doctor who graduated from his residency program with excellent skills, but his family circumstances are very difficult.
The female doctor, a victim in the apartment building fire on Khuong Ha Street, is gradually moving out of critical condition.
Before the incident, due to limited resources, the female doctor's family members lived together in a 45-square- meter apartment in a small apartment building. Besides caring for her family and children, she also had a younger sister with kidney failure and poor health.
When the fire broke out, the female doctor stayed by her sister's side, trying to save her, as her sister was unable to escape on her own. At that time, her two children were staying with relatives in their hometown.
Quick update at 12 PM on September 15th: Clarifying responsibility for the mini-apartment building fire.
Upon being admitted to Bach Mai Hospital's emergency room, Dr. N. was in a coma, in shock, and suffering from multiple organ failure. As one of the most severe cases of carbon monoxide poisoning from the fire, the female doctor was a patient at the Intensive Care Unit (Bach Mai Hospital) and required mechanical ventilation.
Like other victims, the female resident doctor received the best possible treatment from doctors at Bach Mai Hospital. Currently, the health of Dr. N.'s family members is improving. Her husband and sister are in stable condition.
As of this morning, patient N. is conscious, has had the endotracheal tube removed, and is assessed to have a good chance of recovery.
"She's started to become aware, gently raising her hand as if to greet us," a doctor announced, expressing hope for even better things to come for their female colleague.
However, the treating doctors also said that although the patient does not currently require mechanical ventilation, they still need dialysis and special monitoring and care.
With a spirit of mutual support and compassion, the Trade Union of Bach Mai Hospital has provided assistance to help Doctor N. and his family overcome this difficult situation.
According to Bach Mai Hospital, as of this morning, the hospital is treating 26 patients (an increase of 1 case compared to the previous day, a patient transferred from another hospital). All patients who are victims of the fire will undergo imaging and health assessments, especially those with carbon monoxide poisoning, as this gas poisoning can easily cause brain damage.
Previously, on the evening of September 12th, a fire broke out in a mini-apartment building located deep within alley 29/70 Khuong Ha, resulting in 56 deaths and 37 injuries. Notably, despite being granted a construction permit for 6 floors, this mini-apartment building was later invested in and constructed to 9 floors by Mr. Nghiem Quang Minh (44 years old, residing in Yen Hoa Ward, Cau Giay District, Hanoi ).
Following the incident, the Hanoi City Police issued a decision to initiate criminal proceedings, indict the suspect, and temporarily detain Mr. Minh for the crime of "violating regulations on fire prevention and fighting."
